The 5 most amazing fashion podcasts to tune in to now
If video killed the radio star, podcasts are its superhuman reincarnation. Even though they’ve been around for a decade, it seems that the advent of Serial last fall was what really propelled podcasts into mainstream consciousness (see: SNL parody). It was that collective “aha!” moment—like, why haven’t we been listening to these all along? You […]

Thanks to The Man Repeller‘s Instagram feed, I’ve got a new shoe in my life. I love these ultra-elegent mules by newish Los Angeles label NewbarK. They feel modern and at the same time, just like something Bette Davis would have put on in between takes. NewbarK embroidered Nadya suede sandals ($315, shop.fashionmagazine.com)

Man Repeller at Holt Renfrew: The best nuggets from our live Q&A with the blogger turned writer in Toronto
Earlier this month, Leandra Medine aka. The Man Repeller was at Holt Renfrew in Toronto to promote the release of her first book, Man Repeller: Seeking Love, Finding Overalls. In typically self-deprecating form, Medine charts the story of her life’s course thusfar alongside several fashion items, including the Canadian tuxedo she helped transform from early ought disaster a la Justin and Britney to the height of fashion. The items, set up as life lessons (harem pants = the way to suss out if a guy loves you for you, Bermuda shorts = how to sort out your body issues) prove why fashion isn’t just simply a fact of life, but life itself, at least for fashion freaks like us.
Before an intimate dinner at Rose and Sons, Medine sat for a live Q&A at Holts hosted by yours truly. We both sat in director’s chairs amidst racks of Helmut Lang and 3.1 Phillip Lim. There were many cute gals in attendance. It was a thrill.
Here are some of the best quips from our interview:

Street Style, New York: 45 photos of stylish Canadians, rock gods and statement accessories at Spring 2014 fashion week
See the street style image from New York Fashion Week »
The sun was out on day four of New York Fashion Week Spring 2014. So were the style stars and their accessories. Carine Roitfeld’s wrap-around sunglasses were totally Star Trek and totally amazing. Just as great was Giovanna Battaglia’s pilgrim belt that was so wide it could probably double as a shirt (see below re: crop tops). But it was neckgear that was the must-have accessory of the moment. These jewels were so chunky they were essentially clavicle armour. Case in point: Man Repeller Leandra Medine’s Frankensteinian choker.
Also out in full force? Shoulders. Like those of Moda Operandi’s Taylor Tomasi Hill and Danielle Prescod, who were just two of the showgoers to embrace the off the shoulder and strapless looks. And it if wasn’t a shoulder it was (still!) definitely a tummy. If the sidewalks have anything to say about it, crop tops will be around for a while.

Pinterest is going to Fashion Week! Top brands and bloggers will be pinning from New York, London, Milan and Paris
Listen up scrapbook enthusiasts. Pinterest is going all access for fashion week and the news may have just made our day.
Collaborating with 100 fashion influencers, from designers to magazines to big-time bloggers (Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Phillip Lim, Harper’s Bazaar, Garance Doré, Man Repeller), Pinterest’s fashion week hub is giving us the front row seat at fashion shows, behind the scenes, street style looks and designers’ inspirations.
Since its launch three years ago, the social media platform’s popularity has grown immensely and with more than two million fashion pins each day, there is no doubt it has also been the place to get inspired for fashion.
We’ve already seen how much the platform has transformed the connection between brands and followers: Oscar PR Girl has been live pinning Oscar de la Renta’s fashion shows for the past few seasons and J.Crew just previewed its fall lookbook exclusively for pinners. So it comes as no surprise when Pinterest decided to join in on the biggest fashion event of the year by giving its members a whole new way to experience the most exciting time of the season.

See 10 stylish ways to celebrate Hanukkah »
See the rest of our Holiday Guide »Though we all tend to fixate on Christmas around this time of the year, it’s easy to forget that it ain’t the only holiday in town. Hanukkah, the annual Festival of Lights is pretty rad too. Beginning tomorrow night (December 8) and going for 8 days until December 16, Hannukah will be celebrated by Jews by lighting menorahs, spinning dreidels, and eating too many latkes and jelly-stuffed doughnuts (Speaking for myself, that is). And while the kiddies may receive a different gift and a gold wrapped chocolate coin each night, the adults need a little bit of fun too. To ramp up the Hanukkah spirit, we’ve picked 10 super stylish and awesome ways to celebrate including themed nail decals, blue and silver picks and one party ugly partly adorable dreidel sweater. From us here at FASHION (and Adam Sandler of course), Happy Hanukkah!

Blogger-Inspired Halloween Costumes: 5 last minute get-ups á la Man Repeller, BryanBoy, the Beckermans and more
See our blogger-inspired Halloween costume guide »
If you don’t have your Halloween costume yet, it’s safe to say that you are a major procrastinator. Because we may just be guilty of the same offense from time to time, we’re here to lend a helping hand and come up with some final costume ideas for tomorrow’s Halloween festivities. To make it (relatively) easy, we’ve plucked inspiration from some of the most recognizable faces that we see every day, fashion and style bloggers BryanBoy, Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine, Tavi Gevinson, I Want I Got’s Anita Clarke and the Beckerman sisters.
The best part of dressing up like a blogger for Halloween? Your costume shouldn’t require many extra purchases, and you can take fashion risks with styling that you might not be inclined to try regularly. Whether you want to sport Mickey Mouse ears like BryanBoy or an oversized pair of sunglasses á la Anita Clarke, these costumes are as easy as pie.

The Coveteur relaunches with a riproarious group of fashion mini mes featuring mini Anna Dello Russo, Rachel Zoe, Anna Wintour and more!
The fashion industry just got a set of mini mes all thanks to The Coveteur. The re-launch of the site started by Torontonians Erin Kleinberg and Stephanie Mark is kicked off by a video starring child actors as Taylor Tomasi Hill, Kimye, Leandra Medina aka Man Repeller, Rachel Zoe and many, many more.
The self-proclaimed party of the year was DJed by Leigh Lezark and had the Courtin-Clarins girls looking disinterested on their cellphones and wearing designers from Altuzarra to Osh Kosh. As per real life, mini Anna Dello Russo stole the show yelling, “everything is fashion, darling” to a regular sized Jeanne Beker who just so happened to be working the carpet.
