FASHION Plates: Host your own royal wedding watching party!
By Randi Bergman and Jordan PorterYou can’t tell, but we wrote this with a British accent. That’s how excited we are for the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton this Friday (has our month-long countdown taught you anything?) There was a point in time where Will’s “I do” might have sent us into the depths of despair with visions of our could-be life of polo matches, fancy hats and royal-crested pinkie rings crumbling before us. These days though, our royal loyalties lie with that crush-worthy bad-boy Harry, so for now, we’re totally game for rising at 6am to watch the event of the century along with the rest of the world. For those of you who’d like to join in full spirit, we’ve prepared a guide to the essentials you’ll need to host your own themed party. May the festivities begin!

Harumika has commissioned Chloe Bayly, a student at the London College of Fashion, to do the same with bride-to-be Kate. Chloe created her own mini-prediction of Kate’s wedding gown, as well as recreating some of her signature style moments⎯the royal blue Issa dress, her sheer mini-shift dress from when she met Prince William, and the Reiss ensemble from her engagement photos.

Royal wedding countdown: Day 17
What’s today’s rumour mill churning out? While there’s still no definite answer on who will be behind Kate Middleton’s dress on the big day, there is some talk that the future princess has several designers on stand by.
One new name that has been added to the pool of brought to the royal wedding’s table? Jasper Conran⎯a British designer worn by Princess Margaret‘s daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto during her own nuptials. Interestingly enough, Conran’s wedding gown collection has mysteriously since been removed from his website since the buzz began.
Another source of conflict in the dress debate? It was recently revealed that Palace officials turned to EIC of British Vogue, Alexandra Shulman, looking for help in regards to who should be behind what Kate walks down the aisle in. While Alexandra was said to have been pushing for a McQueen concoction designed by his successor, Sarah Burton, any designs from McQueen were left out of the magazine’s recent blockbuster issue dedicated to the royal wedding.
