Lady Gaga is rumoured to be writing a song for The Great Gatsby soundtrack!
Despite disappointment that The Great Gatsby’s original Christmas 2012 premiere date was pushed back to May 2013, the delay does mean there’s more time for exciting Gatsby rumours to unfold. Today’s edition: Lady Gaga may be recording a song for the film’s soundtrack.
According to British Vogue, actress Adelaide Clemens—who plays Myrtle’s sister in the film—spilled the beans earlier this week and also hinted that Prince may be contributing to the soundtrack. While nothing has been confirmed by Lady Gaga or the the producers of the film, we started thinking of how she could rework some of her existing songs for the film:

Go inside Canada’s first ever Topshop (!!!), and peep creative director Kate Phelan’s top 5 picks
The British are coming! Or rather, they’re here. At this very moment, actually, Topshop and Topman are opening the doors to their first Canadian store at Yorkdale Mall. We previewed the shop-in-shop at the Bay yesterday with creative director and former British Vogue fashion director Kate Phelan in tow. As we scurried through the 15,000-square-foot space along with Phelan (lots to see/mentally shop for/freak out over, so little time), we were tickled to see that all the familiar Topshop bases were covered—from the Unique and Boutique collections (Mary Katrantzou, Pamela Love, David Koma, and more collabs coming for the holidays!), to the seizure-inducing shoe wall and makeup. “What you see here is what you’ll see in one of our main stores in [London’s] Oxford Circus,” said Phelan. “Each of the trends is broken up into different stories so that you can pick and choose what you love. Topshop is really about styling yourself and finding your personality and not having to be dictated to.” While we could easily slide a hundred or more items onto our arm for the fitting room (and we did, we really did), Phelan whittled her faves down to a cool five. Buy them now, or we will.

Royal wedding countdown: Day 17
What’s today’s rumour mill churning out? While there’s still no definite answer on who will be behind Kate Middleton’s dress on the big day, there is some talk that the future princess has several designers on stand by.
One new name that has been added to the pool of brought to the royal wedding’s table? Jasper Conran⎯a British designer worn by Princess Margaret‘s daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto during her own nuptials. Interestingly enough, Conran’s wedding gown collection has mysteriously since been removed from his website since the buzz began.
Another source of conflict in the dress debate? It was recently revealed that Palace officials turned to EIC of British Vogue, Alexandra Shulman, looking for help in regards to who should be behind what Kate walks down the aisle in. While Alexandra was said to have been pushing for a McQueen concoction designed by his successor, Sarah Burton, any designs from McQueen were left out of the magazine’s recent blockbuster issue dedicated to the royal wedding.

Fashion news: Tom Pecheux named Estée Lauder creative director, Daisy Lowe joins Louis Vuitton, and Megha Mittal buys Escada
We’re all atwitter with excitement (literally, we tweeted about it) that Estée Lauder has brought on runway makeup heavyweight Tom Pecheux as its new creative director. This means we can expect to see the line being used backstage at high-profile international shows, and we can’t wait to see how he’ll infuse his Parisian cool into the all-American—and, let’s be honest, coveted by our grandmothers—brand. His first collection hits counters next spring. [WWD]Thirty-three-year-old Megha Mittal has beat out Sean Ley in the bidding war to buy Escada. The daughter of the chief executive of the largest steel company in the world, Mittal has been looking to invest in a major fashion house for over a year. She will keep CEO Bruno Saelzer on, and plans for Escada to become an affordable-luxury label offering more ready-to-wear pieces. [The Cut]
