Old Montreal is sizzling these days. Whether  it’s for cinq-à-sept cocktails, gallery-hopping  or moonlit dinners, I often find myself there and invariably my credit card gets a workout.

Judging from her bold statement pieces and savagely sexy collections, Pamela Love (at select Holt Renfrew stores) has become the go-to girl for unique accessories that push the boundaries of traditional jewellery design. Trust us, all you need is love.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: We Calgarians love our labels, but we also love embellishment—how perfect, given all the decorative trims that appeared on the spring runways. The tassels on Dolce & Gabbana’s Miss Sicily bag give it a playful touch.

The striped nautical top is a versatile classic. Teamed with trousers and a pair of chunky-heeled peep toes, this striped stretchy-cotton sailor tee by Joe Fresh style ($16, at Real Canadian Superstore, joe.ca) is ideal for achieving a weekend-cool or workday-chic look.

Marie Saint Pierre’s (mariesaintpierre.com) new eau de parfum duo ($125 each) is mysteriously named B and C. “For me, B stands for bois [wood] while C is for cuir [leather], which are the scents’ primary ingredients, but each woman is free to interpret the perfumes as she feels,” says Saint Pierre.

When it comes to matters of the feet, designers like Marc Jacobs (at Louis Vuitton) and Hannah MacGibbon (at Chloé) took a step in a similar direction this season.

Yaletown beauty institution Beautymark is celebrating a decade in business with a move—100 steps away. The new bi-level location (1268 Pacific Blvd., 604-642-2294, beautymark.ca) next to the Roundhouse community centre now offers more beauty treatments, including mini Dermalogica facials and the always-popular brow shaping appointments by resident expert Alisha Noon. Of course, there’s still plenty of beauty loot to spritz, test and dab.
