Inside Toronto Life’s Most Influential party: 29 shots of A-list guests who are just as stylish as they are powerful
See all the Toronto Life Most Influential 2013 party pics »
At first glance, a party where every guest is nose-deep in a magazine may seem like the least social event ever. However, when it’s the launch party for Toronto Life’s annual Most Influential issue, a quick read-through is totally necessary: while everyone who made the list was invited, none of the Most Influential guests knew how they ranked. Hence the frantic-yet-totally-casual flipping of pages upon entry by guests like Robert Deluce and Charles Khabouth. Held in the ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton, deep red lighting and a swanky live band made the space feel like a Swing Era soiree.
While Toronto Life’s editor-in-chief Sarah Fulford was quick to make a few drunken stupor jokes, neither of the issue’s cover subjects—that is, Bill Blair and Rob Ford—joined in for the festivities. Sure, it would have been good for gossip, but they wouldn’t have added to the impressive style that permeated the event.

Top 10 Fashion Trends, Spring 2013: We distill over a month of runway and street style photos into 100 of the season’s strongest moments
See the biggest Spring 2013 fashion trends »
See all of our fashion month coverage »It’s official, Spring 2013 fashion month is over. And after receiving a daily dose of street style photos and runway updates, it would be silly for us to ignore the trends that we saw day after day (after day, after day). It’s hard not to fall victim to sensory overload, but thankfully our street style photographer, Stefania Yarhi, made it easy for us to pick and choose which trends we know we’ll be seeing all spring long. With hundreds of photos from Paris, Milan, London, New York, and Toronto at our disposal, we just couldn’t ignore the countless graphic tops (a day without a Balenciaga sci-fi sweater sighting was a total shocker), exposed bellies, suits, and mixed prints—so we didn’t because we’re positive they will be huge come Spring 2013. We’ve selected 10 of the biggest fashion trends from the streets and the runways and put them together in one place, so gets to clickin’. The leaves may just be starting to fall, but it’s never too early to plan for spring, right? (RIGHT!)

Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2013 Street Style: 20 shots of varsity jackets, faux fur and a Nirvana T-shirt outside the shows
See the latest street style photos from Toronto »
Toronto Fashion Week(s) Spring 2013 is in full swing and the first two batches of street style photos from Stefania Yarhi are just the appetizer to the main course, which will kick off on Monday at David Pecault Square.
There may be no Anna Dello Russo, Miroslava Duma, or Taylor Tomasi Hill running about the city, but that’s not to say our very own Toronto natives aren’t just as stylin’. Since it’s nearing the end of October, it’s getting cold outside (it’s Canada!) so show goers have taken a liking to wearing layers outside the shows and refuse to take them off even when inside. The varsity jacket and motorcycle jacket has become a go-to piece seen on multiple girls about town.
