As we’ve previously reported, Meghan Markle is extraordinarily good a wearing pants. From tailored cigarette pants to conspicuously flared trousers, she’s worn them all and looked dang good while doing so. But it looks like individual leg casings might not have much of a part in Meghan’s future. The Daily Mail reports that Meghan ordered […]

How to wear white pants in the winter: 7 tips inspired by street style stars
It takes a brave girl to reach for white pants in the winter. In my experience, I start out with a clean slate, but by the time I get home, I’ve usually got a splash of slush up the back of my leg or have managed to hide an entire snow drift under a wide […]

Finding the perfect fit: Loft solves the pant problem with 4 simple steps
Women are wearing pants now more than ever, so why is it so impossible to find the perfect pair? We struggle to find the right colour, cut, length- and whose hips are really proportionate to their waist anyway? Typically, pant shopping comes with a checklist. We want a pair that promises to flatter our unique silhouettes, that we can get the maximum mileage out of and that combines high-end style with serious comfort. Is that really too much to ask? LOFT gladly accepted the challenge, which they’re dubbing “The Pant Problem.” The task was broken down into three main questions: “why do women battle with how pants fit?”, “why do they struggle with pant shopping?” and “what are women really looking for?”

Top 10 Fashion Trends, Spring 2013: We distill over a month of runway and street style photos into 100 of the season’s strongest moments
See the biggest Spring 2013 fashion trends »
See all of our fashion month coverage »It’s official, Spring 2013 fashion month is over. And after receiving a daily dose of street style photos and runway updates, it would be silly for us to ignore the trends that we saw day after day (after day, after day). It’s hard not to fall victim to sensory overload, but thankfully our street style photographer, Stefania Yarhi, made it easy for us to pick and choose which trends we know we’ll be seeing all spring long. With hundreds of photos from Paris, Milan, London, New York, and Toronto at our disposal, we just couldn’t ignore the countless graphic tops (a day without a Balenciaga sci-fi sweater sighting was a total shocker), exposed bellies, suits, and mixed prints—so we didn’t because we’re positive they will be huge come Spring 2013. We’ve selected 10 of the biggest fashion trends from the streets and the runways and put them together in one place, so gets to clickin’. The leaves may just be starting to fall, but it’s never too early to plan for spring, right? (RIGHT!)
View by trend: 1. CARTOON GRAPHICS | 2. BARE MIDRIFF | 3. FILING SUIT | 4. MIXED PRINTS | 5. MONOCHROMATIC | 6. OUT THERE ACCESSORIES | 7. PEEK A BOO | 8. SEEING RED | 9. SIXTIES | 10. STRUCTURE

Jump to trend: FUN FUR | EQUESTRIAN | LEATHER | GEOMETRIC
If you’re ready for a mid-season wardrobe shakeup, we have four hot-on-the-runway trends to try. We’ve taken inspiration from some of our favourite Fall 2012 runways and made the looks ready for the streets. From geometric prints á la Prada paired with a classic pair of jeans to a tough leather jacket as seen at Gareth Pugh with a badass studded ring. We’re also into having some fun with fur and taking the pelts out of their natural hues and wearing bold orange vests like at Blumarine and green-cuffed gloves paired with a delicate watch to make the look a little bit more casual. And if wearing fur isn’t your jam, try looking like you’re riding a horse with some equestrian inspired gear from riding pants to classic knee high boots. Hop to it and get on board with some of our favourite looks for fall. We swear you’ll like it.

It’s a pantsuitpalooza! The 10 best fashion moments from Solange Knowles’ “Losing You” music video
See the 10 best moments from Solange’s “Losing You” video »
Solange Knowles means business in her music video for “Losing You.” No, actually: she looks like she could be heading to work in a variety of bright pantsuits and printed blazers. But really, she’s just hanging out in South Africa and looking amazing while doing so. Solange earns major style points for having one of the most visually appealing music videos we’ve seen since Grimes’ “Genesis” and, even better, the song is pop music perfection.
Many of the moments from “Losing You” feel like they could be editorial campaigns for major fashion houses, thanks to the amazing styling and artistic shots. (Let’s be thankful Solange didn’t turn to House of Deréon to design the clothing—ahem, like in the days of Destiny’s Child—because we likely wouldn’t be talking about the video if that was the case.) With what feels like a never ending parade of prints, bright colours and a beautiful Solantourage (see what we did there?), the video confirms our guess that Beyonce’s little sister is onto something big. Now excuse us while we go practice our shoulder-popping dance moves…

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013 Style Snaps: We spy Rachel Zoe, Leigh Lezark, Taylor Tomasi Hill, Giovanna Battaglia and more outside Giambattista Valli and Stella McCartney
See the latest photos from Paris Fashion Week »
Today’s set of street style photos from Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013 is basically a stylish game of Where’s Waldo because there are so many major fashion folks to spot. Think you have what it takes? Because our street style photographer Stefania Yarhi definitely does.
First, we breathe a sigh of relief upon spotting Anna Dello Russo (we were seriously freaking out yesterday) in a bright Peter Pilotto dress outside Giambattista Valli. Also outside was Leigh Lezark, in a fiery red, orange and black ensemble—half pantsuit, half structured sweater. There’s also quite the French beauty aesthetic going on, with almost everyone sporting natural waves and messy curls, including Emmanuelle Alt and Australian stylist Caroline Sieber. It’s a hairstyle that works: they look casual cool as they cruise around the streets of Paris.

The list: Fiery accents set classic black-and-white houndstooth ablaze
See our editor’s houndstooth picks »
Black and white houndstooth is by no means a new trend in fashion—it gained mainstream popularity in the 1930s and has been modified many times over. For Fall 2012 designers have once again put their spin on the classic look and there are many houndstooth pieces that can be kicked up by simply adding red and gold accents.
Maisonette 1977’s form-fitting dress is not full-on houndstooth, but rather gives a hint of the pattern on the top and bottom in case you’re too nervous to go for the whole nine yards. However, for full-on houndstooth try the popular pattern on pants (like this pair by Melanie Lyne) or on a Jacob skirt. If you’re wearing houndstooth on the bottom, be sure to not do the same on top—break it up with a bold colour, like a red blouse from Equipment.
You can also add pops of colour with the accessories you choose to accent with. Red and black heels by Aquazzura will keep you completely on trend, or go small with jewellery. A red and gold ring by Kate Spade or some gold bracelets from Pandora will add just the right amount of colour, turning a classic outfit into something fiery and fresh.
