Yellow was everywhere last night—from Elizabeth Olsen’s textured Emilio Pucci dress and Diane Kruger’s Prada gown to Elle Fanning’s eyelids. Fuchsia was a favourite lip colour, and braids continue to be the secret twist to many a red carpet updo. American designer Ralph Rucci has cancelled his runway show for the this year’s New York Fashion Week. Rucci’s president Vivan Natta will be taking an extended medical leave and Rucci has decided to hold individual appointments at his Soho showroom instead, a move he says will save the company US$500,000. Fashion news: Lanvin’s spring campaign looks windy, Gaultier does sailor-inspired footwear, smell like Beyoncé, and more
Jamie Bochert is headlining the Lanvin ads for spring 2010. “I thought maybe we need a bit of action,” said artistic director Alber Elbaz. Shot by photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign has Bochert running, bending and dodging in feminine Lanvin ruffles. Bochert also poses over a toilet in Marc Jacobs’ spring campaign. [WWD]
Beyoncé is launching her first fragrance. Heat comes out at the end of January, inspired by all the pyrotechnics a Beyoncé concert demands. “A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat,’” the singer told WWD. Suffice to say, the ads will be steamy. [WWD]
