Afternoon beauty fix: Quick tips for getting the perfect wingtip
I could spend my whole life trying to draw a wingtip line and never get it right. Is there a liner out there that will make it easier? Asian persuasion: Tips and tricks for beautifying an Asian face from one of Estée Lauder’s top artists
It’s not often I’m asked, “Do you speak Chinese?” when I walk into an interview. Yet this is precisely what happened when I met Alan Pan, the London-based Estée Lauder makeup artist, in Vancouver last month. Pan thinks I’m from Ming Pao, the Chinese newspaper, and while I speak Mandarin, it’s hardly at beauty-interview level. Nevertheless, Pan provides me with makeup tips for Asian faces, offering tidbits on avoiding common errors.

Anna Wintour on lunch dates with Marc Jacobs: “At the end of it, I feel totally outclassed, out of touch, and certainly completely out of shape, but also at the same time, absolutely and wonderfully exhilarated because Marc is someone who makes you want to rush out and do things.” [The Cut]

Fashion news: Eau de Bruce Willis, Marc Jacobs’ book store, and Evan Biddell wants you to buy that dress you borrowed
Evan Biddell is tired of a culture of rampant dress-borrowing. He tweeted this morning: “ok ok, that was a little harsh, but 90% of my clients are Fabulous women, and if they are all borrowing outfits, I only sell 10% of the time.” Then he asks: “HOW IS THIS SUPPORTING CANADIAN FASHION??????????” His solution? “maybe its a matter of becoming organized? we could all have the same policy? you wear it, you buy it. sounds fair to me.” After all, exposure doesn’t mean much if it never turns into a sale. Biddell’s frustration may stem from this weekend’s Juno Awards–which will surely feature many borrowed frocks. He followed up his comments with “does anyone watch the canadian pop music awards anyways?” [Evan Biddell Twitter]
Another day, another celebrity fragrance line. Except this time, it’s a male celebrity creating a signature scent: Bruce Willis is launching a fragrance set to be released in July. Eau d’ie hard maybe? [Styleite]

Fashion news: Tom Pecheux named Estée Lauder creative director, Daisy Lowe joins Louis Vuitton, and Megha Mittal buys Escada
We’re all atwitter with excitement (literally, we tweeted about it) that Estée Lauder has brought on runway makeup heavyweight Tom Pecheux as its new creative director. This means we can expect to see the line being used backstage at high-profile international shows, and we can’t wait to see how he’ll infuse his Parisian cool into the all-American—and, let’s be honest, coveted by our grandmothers—brand. His first collection hits counters next spring. [WWD]Thirty-three-year-old Megha Mittal has beat out Sean Ley in the bidding war to buy Escada. The daughter of the chief executive of the largest steel company in the world, Mittal has been looking to invest in a major fashion house for over a year. She will keep CEO Bruno Saelzer on, and plans for Escada to become an affordable-luxury label offering more ready-to-wear pieces. [The Cut]
