Pistachio Perfumes Are This Summer’s Most Unexpected Fragrance Trend
Quick: What’s the chicest gelato flavour? Don’t overthink it. Next question: Why is it pistachio? As far as frozen dessert flavours go, pistachio is simultaneously elegant, warm and refined (think of childhood trips to the ice cream shop where you were baffled yet enchanted by your mom’s go-to, very sophisticated green order), while still bursting […]

Dior Perfumer François Demachy on His Latest Creation Joy by Dior and Why Having Doubt is Good
Though his father wanted him to be a doctor, François Demachy felt the siren call of ’60s-era rebellion and decided “hell no.” “I refused any authority,” recalls the 69-year-old Frenchman, on a recent visit to Montreal to give a talk about his long career in fragrance at the Festival Mode & Design. We Asked Teen Girls to Review The Most Popular Celebrity Fragrances
Celebrity fragrances are, in one word, iconic. Throughout the current resurgence of 2000s fashion and beauty, in which we’ve seen Juicy Couture and clear lip gloss make the comebacks of the century, celeb fragrances have remained under the radar and grossly under-appreciated. And I, for one, refuse to stand for it any longer. To usher […]

Celebrity fragrances: The good, the bad and the totally inexplicable
Like having their mugshot taken or leaking a sex tape, creating a fragrance is a rite of passage for many celebs. And while creating perfumes is a celeb’s rite of passage, wearing those scents is a prepubescent teen’s. I mean, who hasn’t stunk up their middle school hallway in—insert literally any celeb’s name—sugar-scented concoction? Yes, […]

Exclusive: The scoop on Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey’s Dolce & Gabbana fragrance film
After months of teasers and anticipation, Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey are finally making movie magic together. However, their debut is of the small screen variety: they come together for “Street of Dreams,” a short film for Dolce & Gabbana’s The One ($66, sephora.ca) and The One for Men ($48, sephora.ca) fragrances.
Both actors have been the face of D&G fragrance for years now, but this is their first time appearing together on screen. What makes this 60-second stunner of a commercial even more exceptional is that the luxe brand enrolled the legendary Martin Scorsese to direct and film.

Katy Perry is expanding her beauty brand with a new line of fragrances
If Katy Perry’s self-proclaimed fall from cloud nine is an example of anything, it’s that the pop star knows how to hit the ground running. Her summer 3D movie Katy Perry: Part of Me was a box-office hit and every single released by the singer has become an instant chart topper. Now, Katy Perry is continuing with her fragrance line but going bigger and bolder.
Today it was announced that Katy Perry has signed a contract with Coty Inc.—the global beauty manufacturer that has brands such as OPI, Marc Jacobs and Rimmel in its portfolio—to distribute her two existing perfumes (Meow! and Purr) and work alongside as she develops her third signature scent. “I’m excited to share what’s next in my perfumed world,” she said via press release.
