There was so much fabulousness going on outside the Viktor & Rolf show on Saturday—think Karlie Kloss with moody stained lips and stringy hair, Anna Dello Russo in Big Bird fur, and Gareth Pugh looking as edgy as his own collections—but alas, none of it could contend with Katy Perry, her vibrant cobalt Viktor & Rolf swirl trench, or her dyed-to-match Wonder Woman-blue do. The latest in a string of candy (and comic) coloured dye jobs was all the buzz all weekend long, and so it’s only fitting that it get a photo tribute here!

Today’s batch of photos proves that, well, you can never have too much beauty outside one Paris fashion week. Pre and post Balmain and Christian Dior, we caught everyone from Karlie Kloss, to Joan Smalls, to Kate King, to Magdalena Frackowiak, to Anja Rubik, to Alana Zimmer (and there’s more!) striking a pose for the cameras. Another day, another creation from the prolific genius that is Karl Lagerfeld. Earlier this week, it was Chanel couture, this month it’s the international KARL pop-ups for the collection released THIS SECOND, and today it’s the ad campaign he shot for the Spring 2012 Chanel Athletics collection. The truly exquisite shots feature Joan Smalls and Saskia de Brauw doing sporty things over the ocean in Le Cap d’Antibes in frothy, pleated, and poofed dresses. Dare we say, the behind-the-scenes shots are equally as spellbinding. Images of a team—which included the Kaiser and Carine Roitfeld, to name a few—whisking through the ocean, have us counting down to our own vacations.

Going backstage at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show is likely on every guy’s fantasy to do list. In reality, the Angels/models are actually in more clothing backstage than they are on the runway, and sorry to disappoint, but they’re too busy with hair and makeup to engage in any frivolous antics. However, this didn’t stop Kanye West. While going through a collection of backstage pics, we couldn’t help but notice his presence among Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio, Joan Smalls, and the other Angels. After all, the only other males backstage were those working the show, making Kanye’s picture posing stand out even more.

The Met Gala, the annual celebration of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s summer Costume Institute exhibit, is loosely known as the Oscars of fashion. This year, models of the moment, editrixes, big-deal designers, as well as fashion-crowd approved pop stars and actresses flocked to the famed red steps in the name of Alexander McQueen, the subject of this years exhibit entitled Savage Beauty. While the designer’s famed creations didn’t dominate the carpet quite as we had hoped (but more on that later), there were lots of juicy bright hues (Zoe Saldana and Ginnifer Goodwin), ladylike lace (Rihanna, Taylor Swift), anything-but-basic black (Christina Ricci, Ashley Olsen, Stella McCartney), and plenty of glitzy gowns (Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Kruger) to feast our eyes on.

As for our faves? We loved Diane in her up-to-there Jason Wu gown, and Liv Tyler in her breathtaking feathered Givenchy couture. And you?
