Chanel branded pickles! Rihanna rides in a shopping cart! The top 5 moments from Chanel’s Fall 2014 show
Wander the aisles at the Chanel Supermarket »
Only Karl Lagerfeld could turn a supermarket into a destination spot. Today’s Chanel Fall 2014 show transformed Paris’s iconic Grand Palais into a full-fledged Chanel Shopping Centre, complete with rows upon rows of double-C branded canned goods, condiments and more. Given that this was a Lagerfeld-designed grocery store, the aisles were immaculately styled and featured a towering pyramid of coconuts that would make any Whole Foods shopper jealous.
Among the editors and fashion elite in attendance were Rihanna and Chanel ambassador Keira Knightley, who both wore mock crop tops and skirts from the Spring 2014 Couture collection. Keira stuck with her go-to black and white palette, pairing her look with feminine metallic pumps, while Rihanna was in pale-purple and donned matching lavender sneakers and fanny pack. Take note, the mock crop top is the new crop top.
While there was plenty of fun to be had before and after the runway presentation, here’s our rundown of the top standout moments from the Chanel Supermarket:

Street Style, Paris: Chanel, Chanel and more Chanel outside Couture Fashion Week
See the street style shots from Paris Couture Fashion Week »
Yesterday’s Chanel show went from the runway and beyond on the streets outside Spring 2014 Couture Fashion Week. Outside the Grand Palais, Karl Lagerfeld’s preferred Paris venue, Chanel was the label of choice for models, editors and just all around It girls striving for new and improved takes on those famed double Cs.
Model of the moment Soo Joo, fresh of the Chanel runway, bravely showed some leg in knee high socks, a black fur shearling coat, and sculpted Chelsea boots. Joan Smalls, happily fresh faced, looked the part of a stylish ‘80s rocker in a chic denim, leather and fur combo.

All the sexy, fashiony connections we could draw from Beyoncé’s epic visual album drop
As the Internet, every friend or your internal Queen Bey clock have already alerted you to, Beyoncé released her fifth album exclusively on iTunes just before midnight last night. Quietly, elegantly and with the regal control we’ve come accustomed to with the superstar, she one-upped the leakers by being the first to release the self-titled album to the grovelling masses. “I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it. I am bored with that,” she says via video press release. “There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”
Beyoncé is 14 tracks, 17 videos and features a never-ending contributor roster ranging from Frank Ocean and Drake to Terry Richardson and Jonas Åkerlund. Blue Ivy’s in there too, as is her pops Jay-Z. According to the press release, Beyoncé has been recording the songs and filming the videos for over a year while on her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour which is a feat cause a) how the eff does one even function on so high a frequency and b) how the eff did not one of the zillion contribs and/or innocent bystanders (like any of these people) say a thing? Likely to be revealed later: Scarlet letter Bs imprinted on the bodies of 100 music moguls.

The 18th annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show, aka our equivalent of the Superbowl, went down in New York on Wednesday. As we’ve come to expect, it was bigger and better than ever, boasting 40 models (the largest roster ever), performances by Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy and girl group Neon Jungle and the instalment of the $10 Million Fantasy Bra debuted by Angel Candice Swanepoel. 2013’s edition of the larger than life fashion show allowed for a crazy number of stats we’d love to see in one bejewelled infographic, but since it’s Friday, we’ll just list ‘em for you like so:

H&M, The New Icon: The retailer’s latest collection gives model off-duty style a permanent place in our closets
See H&M’s The New Icon collection »
H&M strikes again. Yesterday they were making our hearts race with a campaign fronted by Queen Beyoncé (bow down, b***es) and today we found out the Swedish brand will be releasing a collection inspired and modeled by four of fashion’s other favourites—models Joan Smalls, Daphne Groeneveld, Lindsey Wixson, and Liu Wen.
Titled “The New Icon,” the collection is set to hit store floors mid-April and consists of festival ready looks like a tasseled leather jackets, bolo ties, and western inspired ankle boots that are indicative of model off duty style. For those of you who don’t know what that means, it’s basically an effortless look you would spot a model in while she runs from show to show (that would likely be captured by one of many street style photographers).

MTV’s House of Style is back! But who will replace Cindy and Naomi?
In a bygone time, supermodels ruled the world, walking pack-like down a Versace runway or gathering en masse in front of Peter Lindbergh’s lens. Alone they were already unstoppable, but these Amazon women were also friends, a supermodel gang that had the world watching their every move. This supermodel-obsessed era was known as the ‘90s, and the true archeological evidence of this time was a show known as House of Style. In some of the most amazing news we’ve heard all week, MTV has just today announced the cult favourite will be returning in October, this time as a more digitally based series with lots of social media crossover.
Running from 1989 to 1999, the show’s 72 episodes not only captured the enormous power these women had at the time (in one episode, longtime host Cindy Crawford talks about how she once killed time trying to figure out how much money she made per minute) but the behind-the-scenes goings-on of their lives and of the fashion industry as a whole. The show took these seemingly untouchable beauties and made them a bit more real. Case in point: Naomi Campbell unabashedly applying zit cream on-camera.

Just released: Givenchy’s Fall 2012 ad starring Stella Tennant makes us want to rave
Now here’s a rave we’d actually like to go to: a dancing Stella Tennant, thumping electronic music and a Givenchy wardrobe. Much more chic than the usual glow-in-the-dark sticks and face paint. The fractured images of Tennant shimmying under a stormy sky in violet Givenchy are meant to capture the electric euphoria of a rave […]
