MFW diary: Showroom frenzy, chic exits at Moschino and Etro
Left: Moschino and right: Etro shot by Antonio de Moraes Barros Filho/Getty Images The morning begins with heart shaped doughnuts and an officer’s club feeling at Moschino. There are heaps of gold trimmed masculine naval uniforms, black and white tux inspired trouser suits and a dash of sweet flouncy dresses thrown in as a feminine counterpoint by way of ruffles, bustles, floral prints and peplums. Why Coco Rocha walks the runway with a chicken atop her head, I’ll never know, but one things for sure: she certainly knows how to put the chic into chicken!

Fashion news: Kate Moss is shy, Abbey Lee and Dree Hemingway drown in Chanel bags, and will Uncle Karl be on Gossip Girl?
Karl Lagerfeld has just released another short film featuring Dree Hemmingway and Abbey Lee taking a breather after a Chanel spree, hence the film’s title Shopping Fever. Of course, a Lagerfeld short wouldn’t be a Lagerfeld short without Baptiste Giabiconi smouldering expertly at the camera. [The Cut]
More in Lagerfeld-related news: He was spotted with Blake Lively leaving the Ritz Carlton in Paris, so naturally rumours of the Kaiser appearing on Gossip Girl are now rampant. We hope this is true, but it’s probably not. [Glamour]

Fashion news: Nathan Jenden leaves DVF, no Diana Ross collab for Steve Madden and Star Wars style on parade
Photgraphy by Peter Stigter The Diane von Furstenberg show at New York fashion week will be Nathan Jenden‘s last turn as the company’s creative director. Jenden is leaving the label to focus on his own line in London. [Grazia]
First Neiman Marcus, then Net-a-Porter dropped Emanuel Ungaro for Spring 2010, and word is that now the Ungaro boutique on Madison Avenue is shutting its doors. The shop is reportedly calling customers with the news that they’re closing down shop and are having a liquidation sale. An employee at the shop confirmed the sale, but not the closure. [The Cut]

Milan: September 23
By Susie Sheffman
Waiting for a Prada show to begin is always an electrifying experience. First there’s the mad crush at the door, next, the confused scramble through a maze of seating, followed by the whispered buzz about what Mrs. Prada, as her staff lovingly call her, is about to show. Trust me: You can guess all you want, you will never get it right!

Milan: Day three
By Susie Sheffman
Shown: Prada Fall 2008. Photography by Peter Stigter.
I’ve just come from the Prada show where I’m always wowed! It’s Mecca in Milan. There’s nothing quite like the pre-show buzz and it’s anyone’s guess what Miuccia will do next. No matter what, it’s sure to make everything that you’ve seen prior seem almost insignificant!
