Bottega Veneta Has Opened Their First Canadian Flagship Store
Earlier this year Bottega Veneta opened a flagship in New York City–the colossal five story structure took up an entire half-block of Madison Avenue. The New York Times reported it as “luxury that is not a neon billboard” or “a wink to those in the know.” But despite the store’s obvious grandeur, the space still managed to evoke […]

How Fake News is Infiltrating Fashion
In January, Topshop released a pair of jeans trumpeting the words “Fake News” down the side in a bold stripe of red. Naturally, the pants triggered a firestorm on social media with its casual use of Donald Trump’s favourite media diss. Vanessa Friedman of the New York Times summed up the controversy when she wrote, […]

Angelina Jolie stuns in Saint Laurent during her first appearance post double mastectomy
“Very grateful” are the words Hollywood’s leading lady Angelia Jolie used to describe how she was feeling during her first red carpet appearance since undergoing a widely publicized double-mastectomy. The brunette beauty, who announced the news of her preventative procedures to the New York Times on May 14th, described her happiness in seeing the discussion about women’s health expanded since sharing her story. The news has made waves all over the world, encouraging women everywhere to consider their options. FASHION contributor Amy Verner was inspired to share her own experiences with the suddenly “trending topic” in article for the Globe and Mail.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 Street Style: We spot Victoria Beckham, Jenna Lyons and the Courtin-Clarins girls
Check out the street style photos from New York Fashion Week!»
Next up in our street style coverage of New York Fashion Week, our resident street style photographer Stefania Yarhi has captured more of the fashion flock from outside the shows on Sunday. Yarhi’s savvy camera skills caught the likes of Victoria Beckham (who chatted with us back in August), outside after her Spring 2013 show who looked as chic as ever in all black shorts, T-shirt (likely of her own design) and sunglasses. Also snapped: the enviously impeccable Courtin-Clarins girls looking as chic as ever with Claire wearing a black and burgundy long-sleeved dress, Prisca in a white dress, Virginie in a black shirt, and long blue and white striped skirt, and Jenna in a long sleeved printed dress on the streets of New York. J. Crew’s Jenna Lyons looked quite serious while taking a call, wearing a slick grey blazer and white pants. Model Erin Wasson who seemed to be in a hurry, was snapped in a grey button up and holding a furry (real or fake?) purse.

SNP’s word of the day: Neo-housewife
Word: Neo-Housewife
Meaning: A new breed of woman whose housewifeliness is basically independent from marriage, chores, and domesticity, and instead revolves around dieting, gossiping, and shopping while drunk.
Usage: “Yet across the various spinoffs, the real housewives reliably engage in all kinds of confusing, contradictory, neo-housewife behavior: they proudly show off their incompetence in the kitchen (as when Adrienne Maloof of Beverly Hills washes a chicken with hand soap) or their lack of interest in sex (as when her neighbor Lisa Vanderpump jokes about treating sex as a twice-annual gift to her husband) or their limited patience.” — from this past weekend’s New York Times Magazine
