Oprah-Branded Mashed Potatoes are Hitting Supermarkets this Fall
Oprah Winfrey is making moves to takeover your supermarket aisle with her OWN (haha) line of refrigerated soups and side dishes. And it’s called — wait for it — O, That’s Good!. The billionaire media maven and Weight Watchers frontman has teamed up with grocery giant Kraft Heinz to create four “flavourful soups” and four “savoury sides.” But that’s […]

Are we the sugar daddy generation?
Back in the ’60s and ’70s, being a Playboy Bunny was a thing. Many fit, young, attractive women who wanted to escape the 9-to-5 dreck of an office environment took night shifts in private clubs and donned rabbit ears and bodysuits instead of working a desk or retail. Hugh Hefner’s bar-like establishments trained waitstaff on […]

Well, it’s official: Awards show season is done and dusted. And now that the crown jewel of the red carpet has come and gone, what else is there to do besides cry into our failed Oscars ballots (We thought Boyhood was a shoe in, too). And rehash the show’s best moments (Gaga’s Sound of Music […]

Critics’ Choice Awards 2014: Our top 10 red carpet picks
See the Critics Choice Awards 2014 Red Carpet photos »
Awards season is underway and it seems that every other night there is a star-studded gala, benefit or awards show to ogle. We’re not complaining. Last night, it was the Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa Monica, and our favourite celebs didn’t disappoint on the red carpet. A mix of new faces and fashion vets make up our best dressed list keeping things fresh with pops of colour and new silhouettes.
Breakout Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie was a certified babe in a black lace-trimmed jumpsuit from red carpet favourite Elie Saab’s Spring 2014 collection. Pants are still considered unconventional on the red carpet, but this Aussie killed. On the flip side, 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o went with a stunning white cut-out Calvin Klein Collection dress and clutch, later accessorized with the award for Best Supporting Actress. Team Lupita FTW.
Some of our favourite faces shone on the red carpet in a pleasant colour array. Meryl Streep went for a bedazzled navy blue Stella McCartney dress, while Best Actress in a Drama winner Sandra Bullock opted for a rich burgundy custom Lanvin dress, which she finished off with a classic Roger Vivier buckle clutch and Fred Leighton jewels. Both Oprah Winfrey and Julia Louis-Dreyfus showed how to work green in their own unique way—the Queen of talk shows in a cinched dark green Azzedine Alaïa gown and Dreyfus in a Reem Acra knee-length cocktail dress.

Today in really, really weird beauty news: Oprah’s favourite moisturizer is made from human foreskins
Ingredients in skincare products are becoming increasingly inventive and unusual—so much so that many people may actually have no idea what is in the moisturizer they use everyday. But for Oprah Winfrey, a peculiar and, quite frankly, bizarre ingredient in one of her favourite face creams has the TV personality in hot water. At a live event in Vancouver last Thursday, a small group of protesters were outside the stadium to oppose Oprah’s endorsement of a SkinMedica anti-wrinkle cream that is allegedly made from human foreskins. (Yes, you read that right: human foreskins.)
The product in question is SkinMedica TNS Recovery Complex , which promises to “rapidly restore the skins’ barrier and moisture balance.” It contains foreskin fibroblast—otherwise known on the company’s website as “Human Fibroblast Conditioned Media” that reportedly helps improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, as well as overall skin tone and texture. Oprah has publicly endorsed the cream and encouraged her legions of fans and celebrity friends to try it.

They said/We said: Barbara Walters and Oprah Winfrey duke it out in a bidding war for Pippa Middleton
What has got talk shows queens Barbara Walters and Oprah Winfrey duking it out in a $500,000 bidding war? A much-sought-after interview with none other than Pippa Middleton! Who else?
The royal maid-of-honour, who’s currently on a promotional tour for her new party planning book , is no stranger to media attention, and is reportedly being offered as much as $500,000 for an hour-long special with one fortunate interviewer. Quite the deal.
