Kate watch: Longtime royal photographer Sam Hussein on why our dear Duchess is always so picture perfect
See all of Kate’s smiles (and looks!) »
We’d always assumed Kate Middleton was a natural in front of cameras, but now we have proof: Sam Hussein, a royal photographer who has been with the royal family since 2006, recently told Vogue UK one thing (among many) that the brunette beauty has going for her is her natural smile.
“She’s always smiling and it’s a very natural smile, which doesn’t seem forced like you get with a lot of high-profile figures,” Hussein told Vogue UK. “[…] She’s pretty, very natural and is always so well-presented. I have taken thousands of photos of her from all angles and I can say that she hardly ever looks bad or miserable in photos. She has a great smile and that’s what the public associate with her.”

Karl Lagerfeld has somehow found fault with Pippa Middleton’s face
Pippa Middleton’s debut as maid of honour to big sister Kate may have scored her legions of fans across the world (and a Facebook page entirely devoted to her rear view), but one particularly vocal person is not one of them. If a recent The Sun article is to be believed, Karl Lagerfeld thinks Pippa is a butterface—in other words, he thinks she should keep her face under wraps and stick to only showing her rear.

As if! Kate’s wedding dress (a.k.a. the dress that changed our lives) is deemed “irrelevant” by Wikipedia
The very thought of debating whether or not Kate Middleton’s wedding dress was important seems ridiculous, but that’s exactly what happened when Wikipedia published an article entitled “Wedding Dress of Kate Middleton” the day of the royal wedding. It was immediately flagged for deletion, and Wikipedia contributors soon got in an uproar on the article’s “talk” page. They called the article trivial and irrelevant, one even going so far as to say:
“The sheer presence of this article is one of the lowest points ever reached by Wikipedia! What amazes me is that there’s acculturatede [sic] people (since the article was well written) who has such interests, and free time to lose to devoted themselves for such totally irrelevant arguments.”

They said/We said: Kate Middleton’s wedding dress attracts record-breaking number of visitors to Buckingham Palace
Since its worldwide debut at the most famous wedding of the year, Kate Middleton’s Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown has won over fashion critics and royal watchers alike. The dress continues to impress, with a record-breaking number of fans flocking to Buckingham Palace to see it IRL.
Since opening on July 23, “The Royal Wedding Collection” has had 354, 000 visitors so far, and with just a month left until the exhibit closes, the expected revenue from the $27 tickets will be $13 million.
So, where’s all the cash going? Part of the revenue is going to William and Kate’s wedding charity fund—oh, and to spruce up the Royal Family’s digs, including their palaces and extensive art collections.

SNP’s word of the day: Weddingitis
Word: Weddingitis
Meaning: According to the inestimable Urban Dictionary, it’s an “ailment from attending too many weddings or the byproduct of having too many friends become engaged when you are still single. Side effects include outbursts of “AWWWWWW!!” and deep sighs. Lately, this -itis has become a far greater threat: studies show you can catch it even from people you don’t know, and a rash of celebrity weddings, spreading virally, has everyone in danger.
