Get excited, luxury shoppers! Yesterday, Yorkdale Shopping Centre announced it will be opening 10 new boutiques early this fall including designer brands Versace and Jimmy Choo. With both labels launching their first stand-alone shops in Canada, these openings are a sign of what’s to come for the influx of international stores to Canada’s fashionscape.

Also joining the fashion house, and accessories and shoe powerhouse, Yorkdale will be welcoming retailers including the down jacket dynamo, Moncler, and Nine West’s co-founder, Vince Camuto’s first Canadian store. Bulgari, Mont Blanc, Forever 21, Garage, Justice, and Lush are also set to open in just a few months.

Toronto is a hotbed for international retailers. That, and international retailer rumours. From the real (Nordstrom) to the still TBD (Bloomingdales), there always seems to be something to talk about. While we don’t like to pander to gossip and industry rumblings (or maybe we do), this latest rumour is too good to ignore. Japanese retailer Uniqlo is apparently in serious talks with Canadian retailers in an attempt to bring their famous $79 cashmere sweaters to our very own Yorkdale Shopping Centre. We don’t wanna jinx it, but we’re seriously giddy.
