Fashion news: Tavi to launch a mag with Jane Pratt, Gaultier’s Montreal retrospective and Emma Watson’s new clothing line
Jean Paul Gaultier was in Montreal last week to unveil plans for a career retrospective at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Called “The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk” the exhibit will include garments, sketches, photography and audiovisual elements from the designer’s 35-year career. If the seed package and botanically-inspired invitation wasn’t enough of a clue, D&G‘s garden runway, chock full of fresh roses and peonies, was all you needed to get the theme of their spring collection, and fresh and adorable it was! The message was loud and clear: Life’s a picnic! And why not, when you’re decked out in head-to-toe floral chiffon, gingham head scarves, crocheted lace, brightly-coloured canvas totes, aprons, blooming bloomers, woven gingham wedgies and wellies. Sweet!

Russian Vogue has devoted their April 2010 issue entirely to newly-minted Russian resident Naomi Campbell. The model was also guest editor. Says editor Aliona Doletskaya: “I wanted to debunk a few myths surrounding Naomi. When I suggested the concept, she immediately came and for an hour and a half laid out stories, photography, interviews and other sections.
