An ode to weird fragrances (including Pharrell’s latest, Girl)

Photography courtesy of Bertrand Rindoff Petroff 5 fragrances that smell like anything but flowers »
Babely (and by that we mean he’ll look like a baby forever) musician Pharrell Williams can add a new position to his resume: perfumer. The 41-year old has created a fragrance in partnership with Comme des Garçons, entitled Girl. Like his latest album and current exhibition, the fragrance will celebrate the ladies. Skeptical? Web buzz surrounding this new unisex aroma categorizes it far from its celebrity-backed counter parts and promises an innovative and unique new fragrance.

Getting Gwyneth Paltrow’s hair is now easier than ever: She’s now a partner in Blo Blow Dry Bar

Photography by Gregg DeGuire/WireImage Fans of Gwyneth Paltrow’s perma-perfect blond locks take note: the actress, lifestyle expert, cook, author and Goop sensei has added another job to her portfolio: blow dry aficionado. Along with hairstylist David Babaii, Paltrow has been announced as partner and creative director of Blo Blow Dry Bar. The blow dry bar chain has carved itself something of a niche since launching in 2007 with its no cut, no colour, just blowouts philosophy. With Paltrow and Babaii’s input, the chain hopes to expand further, bringing red carpet glam to Gwyneth-devouts worldwide.
“I cannot wait to grow Blo with Gwyneth and David. They are the perfect fit for our company,” said Ari Yakobson, Blo Blow Dry Bar’s CEO via press release. “This combination and a proven business model is exciting. See the complete M.A.C Kelly and Sharon Osbourne collection »
As if M.A.C’s upcoming collabos with Lorde and Marge Simpson weren’t exciting enough, the cosmetics powerhouse has now paired up with the English mother-daughter duo, Kelly and Sharon Osbourne.
Famous for the dysfunctional, but close-knit vibes they portrayed on their Emmy-winning family reality show The Osbournes, these two hit international success alongside the heavy metal, profanity-shouting Ozzy and Kelly’s brother Jack. Not to mention Kelly’s more recent success as a panelist and presenter on E!’s Fashion Police. With Kelly’s Lavender hair and Sharon’s fire-red shortcut being the shining-stars of inspiration, this collabo has resulted in one rad makeup line.

Emma Stone brings back her bangs (Plus, the scoop on her red carpet makeup)

Photography by Theo Wargo/WireImage Emma Stone’s been killing it during the worldwide promo tour for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and while you’d think that the back-to-back-to-back premieres wouldn’t allow for a trip to the salon, that’s clearly not the case. At Sunday’s red carpet in New York City, Stone debuted bold new bangs. The actress is known for changing up her tresses on a regular basis—cut, colour, style, you name it, Stone has definitely tried it—but we were so sure she was happily growing her fringe out. Case in point: Stone has been braiding and pinning her bangs back over the course of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 press tour, which are such classic signs of a girl stuck in fringe limbo, right?

The details surrounding Lorde’s much-anticipated collection for M.A.C. have been revealed and as we expected, it’s all about recreating our cover girl’s signature goth glam look.
The 2-piece collection features the aptly-named “Pure Heroine” deep plum lipstick, a shade synonymous with the singer, and a Rapidblack liquid eyeliner called “Penultimate,” which is the deepest, darkest M.A.C. shade available. Going for $16 and $20 respectively, the shades are a one-two punch for recreating the singer’s look at home when they hit select stores and online on June 5. (A widespread release will go international in early July.)

Exclusive: Yadim is the new global makeup artist for Maybelline New York

Photography courtesy Maybelline New York Maybelline New York has been full of big news lately: first came the announcement that British model Jourdan Dunn is its new global face, and now 30-year-old Yadim has been tapped to be the brand’s new global makeup artist, replacing Charlotte Willer. Now based in New York, San Diego-raised Yadim grew up hanging out with club kids and drag queens in downtown L.A. He’s brought his creative sensibility to ad campaigns for Balmain (with a glowing Rihanna), H&M (featuring a wave-splashed Gisele) and the Gap (the much-discussed shot of Waris Ahluwalia and Quentin Jones), as well as runway shows such as Emilio Pucci, DKNY and Haider Ackermann, and editorial shoots with Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga.
