Swim 2013: Dive into this season’s trends with 30 runway-inspired bathing suits
Or jump to: BLACK | CUT OUTS | METALLIC | RETRO | STRIPES
Finally, summer is just around the corner and surf, sand and sunscreen are words we’re thrilled to bring back into our vocabulary. We’ve got four glorious months of swimsuit potential just around the corner and to help you prep, we’ve got 30 must-have new styles for the swim 2013 season. While we can’t promise to make the changeroom experience any easier, we can take the guesswork out of choosing a suit that will make the biggest splash poolside.
Look to the runway for inspiration and test the waters in a brand-new bather. From bright shades to solid stripes, we are drawing inspiration from Rochas’ dainty outing to Burberry’s metallics.
On the runway, Michael Kors showed us a sporty take on stripes with a lake-ready colour-blocked style. At Moschino Cheap and Chic, the theme was floral, with hints of Hawaii. And if colour ain’t your thing, Jason Wu made us want to buy a one-way ticket to Saint Tropez when he sent a glammed up little-black-one-piece down the runway with an ultra-feminine cover up worn over top.

The Urban Outfitters swim look book is way nice to look at when it’s gross outside
See the Urban Outfitters swim look book »
Considering how low on Vitamin D we currently are, the Urban Outfitters swimwear look book was quite a sight for sore eyes when it landed our inbox yesterday. Praise the sun gods, really.
Models Tallulah Morton and Janell Shirtcliff prance around this beach front locale in the retailer’s 2013 styles. Part Miami Vice, part Dannijo Instagram, the Colin Leaman-shot photos allow the swimwear to pop and take centre stage against sunny blues, yellows and a perfect pink Cadillac. Urban Outfitters is offering the bulk of the 150 styles online. The first offerings are up now and will continue to launch through May. The mix and match program will be available again this year and they will also have a variety of styles from Billabong, Volcom and L*Space among others.

True Blood recap: We take wardrobe cues from Jason’s oh-so-tight Levi’s, Sookie’s army jacket and what Lafayette wears while he’s inhabited by a ghost
Last week, the sight of Eric and Sookie christening every room of the house may have scarred our memory, but other stuff happened too: Lafayette is a medium, Tommy is a skin walker who can shift into people, and Bill and his vamps took a self-imposed silvering to try to beat Antonia at her game of unhide-and-go-seek-the-sun.
Stackhouse Tackle
– Jessica, under Antonia’s spell, opens the door to meet the sun only to get tackled by tight end (not sure if that was his football position; we’re mostly alluding to his butt) Jason who rushes in Superman-style, hair blowing in slow motion. He wraps her in a carpet and shuts the door faster than you can say “touchdown.”
-She’s no football, and so she’s quickly on top of him and about to bite when Antonia and her rag-tag witches stop chanting.
-Jess is slightly singed but grateful Jason saved her and a thank you make-out ensues as Bill shouts her name from below.
-Jason carries her to bed like a groom with a bride (we doubt she’s too weak to walk, but we wouldn’t turn that down either) and re-chains her—they don’t know when Antonia will start chanting again.
-Oh, and that gunshot from last week? That was Jason shooting a guard in the shoulder, but all is forgiven.
