The Most Fabulous Influencers Over 50 You Should Be Following Right Now
Aging can be a scary – and inevitable – life process for many women, especially considering how the fast-paced fashion industry greatly glamourizes youth, casting smooth-skinned models and often disregarding their older customers. But one’s sense of style doesn’t disappear with age. Quite the opposite, in fact, like fine wine it only improves with time. […]

Introducing Skinfluencers: The New Generation of Beauty Bloggers
Earlier this year, like a chill parent who suddenly takes on the role of bad cop, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission issued warnings about sponsored content on Instagram needing to be clearly labelled as an #ad or #spon. The concept is simple: Influencers, bloggers and celebrities who are paid to promote a product or service […]

9 Bloggers Prove That the Beret is Back
Show up to a party in a beret and your eccentric fashion choice may be met with military salutes and mime gestures. But the joke’s on them, because what they don’t know is that the beret is back (and we have pictures to prove it). Fashion bloggers are proof that the beret isn’t just a […]

How to Organize Your Closet Like a Blogger
As summer inches closer, many of us are in the midst of reorganizing our closets (read: packing away winter clothes). While we’ll […]

What’s in your bag, Sea of Shoes’ Jane Aldridge?
Go inside Jane Aldridge’s bag »
Jane Aldridge has the designer shoe game on lock. Her wildly popular blog, Sea of Shoes, has documented her favourite purchases and pairs since 2008, landing her on the pages of Vanity Fair and at dinner tables with Karl Lagerfeld. So it’s fitting that we caught up with the red-headed blogger at Holt Renfrew Yorkdale, to celebrate the launch of the newly-revamped shoe hall. Naturally, she was advising fellow footwear lovers on pre-Christmas purchases and posing for photo opps with fans. (As for Aldridge’s own shoes, open toe Jerome C. Rousseau cage booties are a new favourite. “I’ve been wearing these tons, actually, ever since I got them,” she said.)

Social Media Star: YouTube talent Dulce Candy on beauty collabs, family time and joining the army
Each Friday, we’ll be profiling one of our favourite movers and shakers on social media. From the pop-up power of Pinterest to the beautifully crafted images on Instagram, we’re learning the tricks of the trade from the ladies that do it best (and most stylishly, of course).
From a trip to Paris to customize her own eyeshadow to a JustFab Shoes collaboration in support of a military charity, Dulce Candy Ruiz is one YouTuber we want to know more about. And clearly, we’re not the only ones: She’s amassed a following of over 1.2 million subscribers on her beauty and style-focused channel Dulce Candy.
When you see street style shots of this petite California girl, it’s hard to imagine that Ruiz is a trained Army mechanic with a tour to Iraq under her belt. But it was her time on active duty—spending weeks in an army combat uniform—that made her crave a creative outlet for all things girly. Thus, Dulce Candy was born. Consistency and maintaining the special connection she has with her viewers is what has catapulted Ruiz to her impressive number of YouTube (and blog!) followers, and it’s also helped her land well-deserved collaborations. We love that she’s not afraid to admit that her personal style has evolved through a few hits and misses. Read on as we get to know this beauty and style vlogger more and got her to share some tips for all you aspiring YouTube gurus.

What’s in your bag, Cupcakes and Cashmere blogger Emily Schuman?
See what Cupcakes and Cashmere’s Emily Schuman keeps in her purse »
Emily Schuman’s blog, Cupcakes and Cashmere, is true to its title: her posts are comforting (like delicious dinner party recipes), friendly (so many style and decor tips!) and full of sparkle and shine. In real life, Emily Shuman is just as poised as the content she posts—which is likely one of the reasons she’s been able to turn her blog into a full-time career. While Cupcakes and Cashmere is based out of Los Angeles, Schuman was recently in Toronto to promote her first book, which is an extension of the blog. Holt Renfrew hosted a Cupcakes and Cashmere book signing celebration and we got the chance to sneak a peek inside Schuman’s Prada purse. While there were no cupcakes inside, we did find a macaroon-shaped container, a pair of Chanel ballet flats and a perfect assortment of pink items. Ready to explore? Read on!

They said/We said: Sea of Shoes blogger Jane Aldridge does not like your nasty criticism
She debuted at the Crillon Ball, has arguably one of the most covetable shoe collections and counts Kanye West and Karl Lagerfeld as fans. Like most successful bloggers, the key to Jane Aldridge’s popularity is her perfectly curated online persona. However, today the Sea of Shoes blogger is stomping her fancy heels all over the Internet after New York magazine’s The Cut blog published an unflattering synopsis of a profile of Aldridge that appeared in Texas Monthly.
