Is Kate Middleton designing clothes? Rumour has it the aubergine coat she wore today is her own creation!

It must be mighty cold in London right now, because today Kate Middleton recycled another outfit from Christmas of last year. The eggplant-purple coat was last seen on Christmas morning, when the Duchess wore it to the royal family’s holiday church service Sandringham. This morning, however, she accessorized the coat in much the same style as she did yesterday: with a wide Alexander McQueen belt, black tights and her black suede Aquatalia by Marvin K boots. She did however swap out the green amethyst Kiki McDonough earrings for her citrine drop pair.

Gone are the topical accessories, strapless dresses and pastel colours she wore just weeks ago—Kate Middleton is completely ready for fall, and doing so with a range of rich jewel-toned outfits. Considering that she has a half-dozen appearances scheduled this week, over the coming days our Kate Middleton gallery is going to fill up with cold-weather-approved outfits. And while we can’t confirm that the Duchess has been reading our Fall/Winter 2012 trend guide, it’s worth pointing out that so far, she’s most definitely following our fashion forecast.

Kate Middleton wears Erdem to a friend’s wedding over the weekend
See every outfit Kate Middleton has worn this year! »
If you’ve been going through some Kate Middleton withdraw ever since the Diamond Jubilee tour of Southeast Asia ended, we feel you. Being privy to almost-hourly wardrobe updates was such a treat! While we’ve heard very little about what Kate Middleton has been wearing since returning to England, there was finally an update this weekend. (Unfortunately, though, no pictures.) Kate attended the wedding of a family friend on Saturday and wore something we’ve all seen before: the pearl-grey Erdem dress she debuted at the Trooping the Colour ceremony in June. She did update the look with a new hat—a custom design from Jane Corbett that included embroidered flowers which matched those on the Erdem dress.

A Royal Update: The latest details on Harry’s and Kate’s court battles. Plus, Kate’s designer speaks!
Catch up on all of Kate’s most recent outfits »
The Royals have not been getting along with their clothing lately, to say the least. First, Prince Harry lost a game of strip pool in Vegas (what happens in Vegas definitely doesn’t stay in Vegas), then Kate had some very exposed photos published in a French tabloid and rumour has it that a Danish gossip magazine published completely nude photos of the Duchess. Talk about a stroke of bad luck.
As with all extremely publicized scandals, a strategic plan must be made about how to deal with the tarnishing of the royal name. In the case of Prince Harry, a spokeswoman from the palace has issued a statement saying, “Having considered the matter now for a number of weeks, we have decided not to pursue a complaint.”
Post-party Harry has been deployed to Afghanistan where he is “focused entirely on his deployment in Afghanistan” so a lawsuit would only be a distraction from his hard work.

Kate Middleton wears a floral headdress one last time and departs from the South Pacific

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Diamond Jubilee tour of Southeast Asia may have officially ended, but there are two final outfits to report on! This morning the royal couple departed from Tuvalu in almost the same manner as they arrived: wearing ceremonial headdresses and being carried on thrones through crowds of dancing onlookers. Kate was wearing a floral-print shirt dress by Project D London that had her usual silhouette: short sleeves, nipped-in waist and pleated skirt. The dress was clearly a specific choice for that day, as Kate was still wearing it when she and Will landed in Brisbane for a stopover—one of Project D London’s designers is Australia native Dannii Minogue. However, before settling in for the long flight back to England Kate Middleton made quick airport change.

Kate Middleton and Prince William dance the night away in grass skirts and floral headdresses (oh, and Alice by Temperley!)

Yesterday we asked if it was possible for Kate Middleton and Prince William to look even more relaxed during the last leg of their royal tour of Southeast Asia and the South Pacific and today it seems that the answer is a very enthusiastic “YES!” This morning they arrived in Tuvalu, a Polynesian island that’s north of Fiji (almost closer to Hawaii than it is to Australia) and Will and Kate were immediately immersed in the local culture. After being greeted by the Governor General, Kate Middleton and Prince William were carried through the crowd on thrones created just for the occasion. Then came the flower headdresses—which paired quite well with Kate’s pale-yellow daisy eyelet lace dress. The very Louis Vuitton Spring 2012-esque frock was made by an unnamed seamstress (apparently a custom order for Kate) and has oversized sleeves, a trim waist and a pleated skirt. Kate Middleton was also wearing her Stuart Weitzman Minx wedges and Kiki McDonough Citrine Drop earrings.
But it was later that night that the real island party began.

Kate Middleton looks relaxed in Mulberry and Jonathan Saunders while things get tropical in the South Pacific

Since we last checked in with Kate Middleton and Prince William, they’ve travelled deeper and deeper into the South Pacific and, as such, are dressing the part. Don’t believe us? On Friday Kate was wearing a long-sleeve dress and a head scarf while walking in stockings through a mosque—today the Duchess is barefoot and wearing traditional beaded necklaces on a remote topical island. But! Let’s not get ahead of ourselves! On Saturday morning the couple visited Malaysia’s Danum Valley Conservation Area and explored the rainforest. (Are we the only ones who are reminded of an exhibit in the Natural History Museum when looking at the photos?)

Kate Middleton looks as graceful as ever in Beulah and Temperley London (So take that, French tabloids!)

Oh, Kate! When news broke last night that a French tabloid had published topless photos of Kate Middleton, we have to say, she couldn’t have been wearing a better outfit. Dressed for a tour of the Asskyakrin mosque in Kuala Lumpur, the Duchess looked almost saintly in a long-sleeved powder-blue dress from Beulah London and matching head scarf. The outfit also eerily recalls those worn by Princess Diana during her various visits to Islamic countries in the ’90s—a comparison that becomes even more significant in the wake of this topless photo debacle. St. James Palace was quick to issue a scathing statement saying that “the incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales.” The Palace also condemned the publication of the zoom-lensed shots, which were taken by a paparazzi while Prince William and Kate Middleton were on vacation at the chateau of Viscount Linley (Princess Margaret’s son) in Luberon, France the week before they left for Southeast Asia.
So, back to Kate Middleton’s attire in Southeast Asia we go!

Kate Middleton wears custom Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham on day 3 of the royal tour in Southeast Asia
See what Kate Middelton is wearing up close! »
It’s day three of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s tour of Southeast Asia and they’ve moved on from Singapore and headed north to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Before departing they spent the morning at the Kranji War Cemetery, paying respects to British and Commonwealth soldiers who lost their lives defending Singapore during World War II. Kate Middleton carried a parasol to offer some shelter from the sun (it was a balmy 30 degrees out!) and we have to say, when paired with that pleated Jenny Packham dress she had quite the ’40s aesthetic going on. The dress—described as “duck egg-blue” by the palace—is apparently a custom design for Kate Middleton and features lace detailing on the top.

Is Kate Middleton pregnant? She hasn’t been drinking wine while in Singapore
See what Kate Middleton’s been wearing in Southeast Asia so far »
We can’t help but notice that since she landed in Singapore, Kate Middleton has been choosing water over wine. She’s never shied away from having a glass of wine at royal events before, so we’re curious as to why suddenly she’s only drinking water. Yes, the obvious answer to this question is that Kate Middleton is pregnant. Don’t worry—we’re not about to go all tabloid bump-watch on you, but the pictures don’t lie!

Kate Middleton continues her Singapore visit in 3 stunning outfits
See what Kate Middleton’s been wearing in Southeast Asia so far »
With the Royal Trip to East Asia fully under way, Kate Middleton has stepped out for day two, in three unsurprisingly stunning outfits. Beginning this morning (or last night for us on this side of the world), Will and Kate (Okay, Prince William and Catherine Duchess of Cambridge on this official occasion) were treated to a tour of Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay. Lauded as one of the country’s most beautiful parks, this place seriously wows (One Google search reveals such stunning flora and fauna that it rivals Kate Middleton herself…almost).

Kate Middleton wears Prabal Gurung! The royal tour of Southeast Asia is definitely off to a fashionable start
See Kate Middleton’s outfits up close! »
It’s only day one of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s royal tour of Southeast Asia but we’re already proclaiming the trip a fashion success. The Duchess debuted two new dresses today and oh, do they ever make up for the weeks and weeks of repeated Olympic items. First up: Will and Kate visited the Singapore Botanic Gardens to attend an orchid naming ceremony and visit an orchid that was named for Princess Diana prior to her death. Kate Middleton wore a pale-pink dress by Jenny Packham and, much to our delight, the dress featured an orchid print. Apparently she commissioned the custom design, and while the print isn’t an exact match for the “Vanda William Catherine” orchid—which is white with a spotty purple pattern—we have to admit it comes pretty close.
