Karl Lagerfeld does condos! Our interview with the designer + inside the Toronto party celebrating his arrival
“You look like a very young version of June Newton.” What a greeting. Karl Lagerfeld didn’t need to win me over by comparing me to Helmut Newton’s wife. And the “very” inserted before “young” was probably a stretch. But it gives you an idea of how warm, generous and good-humoured the king of fashion was […]

It’s okay to be a cat lady! 5 fashion picks for a stylish feline-loving existence
See our cat lady fashion picks »
Cat lovers, it’s time. Time to say it loud and proud. For too long “cat lady” has been derogatory, an insulting term meant to insinuate that because one has cats, one has nothing else. Well, female cat owners, listen up: Y’all are cat ladies. But by that I mean simply: ladies who won cats! You can also be stylish, well-loved, vibrant, social creatures, and you probably are. Shove it, cat lady haters. Cats rule and we are not apologizing for it (neither are they, have you met a cat?). They are adorable, independent, cuddly, and, may I add, fashionable as hell.

Kanye West x Karl Lagerfeld? A rumoured collaboration might be in the works
Could there be a Kaiser and Kanye collaboration or business deal on the way? Karl Lagerfeld and Kanye West were spotted on a lunch date at the Mercer Hotel in Manhattan last Thursday by a New York Post-employed spy and supposedly, it was all business.
The New York Post reported that, “They were in a deep conversation, then later appeared to be getting devices out to discuss design ideas.” We’d like to think that Karl was showing off cute pictures of Choupette (and Kanye sharing ones of Mercy in return), rather than discussing fashion with the rapper, but hey.

As Choupette Lagerfeld celebrates a milestone first birthday, we take a look back at what she’s been up to lately
It’s hard to believe Choupette Lagerfeld has only been gracing us with her “great beauty” for a mere year now. From her almost 16,000 follower count on Twitter to her multiple appearances in between glossy covers, the adorable furball has undoubtedly achieved more in a year than any other feline (and some humans) do in their lives.
She celebrated the milestone with dad Karl Lagerfeld yesterday, who tweeted a pic of the kitten with a cat-style cake (i.e. five shrimp arranged in a cartwheel configuration). So what exactly has the fashion world’s most illustrious kitty squeezed into her first year of life?

Buskers, look out! Karl Lagerfeld has taken up a new hobby of pretending to be a street statue
In your daily dose of Karl Lagerfeld news, the eclectic designer apparently has another job on top of his many other ones (father to Choupette, Chanel designer, Snoop Dogg music video star, etc). During his off time, Lagerfeld sometimes likes to pretend to be a street statue.

Karl’s latest and greatest comments on Kate (divine silhouette), Posh (unpretentious) and Choupette (hates anything attached to her body)
Karl Lagerfeld descended upon London for the launch of his Olympics-inspired collection (as well as a men’s and women’s collection) at Selfridges yesterday, showing up a fashionable two hours late to a fête in his honour. However, as is often the case with Lagerfeld, it was well worth the wait, given that the always-quotable designer soon started spouting off about everything from his Olympics-themed collection (it’s “opportunistic”) to the royals (Kate Middleton’s figure is “divine”). And, of course, no conversation with Kaiser Karl would be complete without mention of the “great beauty” Choupette, who we happened to have the great pleasure of speaking with earlier this month (not face-to-face in case you were wondering—she sent us her answers via her ever-present iPad).

The Choupette scoop! Our hilarious (and informative) interview with Karl’s enviable kitty
After Karl Lagerfeld shared news of his new kitten Choupette back in January, and later went on to allude to her life of riches (“She has lunch and dinner with me on the table, with her own food. She doesn’t want to eat on the floor. She sleeps under a pillow and she even knows how to use an iPad. She has two personal maids, for both night and day.”), the fashion world became obsessed with the sure-to-be-Chanel-clad kitty, with V Magazine even giving her a starring role in a fashion spread for an upcoming issue alongside Laetitia Casta. Then came the popularity of the Twitter account, Choupette’s Diary, fueling the insatiable need to know what the kitty does with her spare time. While she wouldn’t dare reveal the extent of her daily activities (“I understand the human fascination with my life but a feline needs her privacy,” she says), she did deign to answer some of our Qs regarding her former owner Baptiste Giabiconi, the new Chanel bag named for her and more.
