Coco attacks New York with a microphone

Photography by Peter Stigter Back in February the fashion blogerati were all chattering wildly about the newly (and now no longer) redheaded Coco Rocha gunning around New York Fashion Week wielding a mic. The Canadian mannequin was on assignment for E! Canada, chronicling her life during fashion’s holy week and interviewing a barrage of personalities. The results, Coco Rocha Fashion Attack NYC, which airs tonight at 10 p.m. EST on E! (check your local listings), are an hour-long chronicle of model mayhem—makeup at DVF, a fitting at Michael Kors, agent meetings and house parties.

Daily reads: Agyness inspires a namesake song and Coco’s après-gala snack attack
Agyness Deyn has done guest vocals on a song, been engaged to a musician and now has inspired a song–take a listen. [Modelina, via Grazia] It’s no Hilary Swank mowing a burger after winning an Oscar, but here’s Coco Rocha sharing a shot of her fast food side trip after the American Ballet Gala. [Oh […]

Model Sigrid Agren talks to Karl Lagerfeld for Interview. It’s full of the regular Karl-isms: “Who has the idea to name you Sigrid?” “There’s no ‘again.’ There’s only the future.” and “I think everyone should go to bed like they have a date at the door.” But, just like everyone everywhere’s dad, feels that ’60s music was the best. Would you sleep in this outfit? Photography by Peter Stigter Multi-faceted quirk Miranda July is having her wedding dress designed by her friends at Rodarte. More important, perhaps, is that her fiancé has Rodarte jammies. What do you think those look like? [WWD]
We’re still waiting on confirmation on who’ll be taking the helm at Nina Ricci. (Peter Copping, says the rumour.) The ousted Olivier Theyskens is said to be going to Halston. We have mixed feelings about this. [Hint]

Parties: Women X Women and Jezebel

Photography by Jeremy North-Lewis Girls on film: Canadian model Coco Rocha, in head-to-toe Greta Constantine (fall, of course), sent flash bulbs into a frenzy on King Street on Thursday night when she arrived at the Women X Women party, held at the future home of the Fashion House condos. (One photographer even joked with the new redhead that she was looking better than Ms. Jolie.)

Daily reads: The runway grows up, models eat junk food and Rocha is a redhead. It’s anarchy.
Hurrah! Opening Ceremony opens online so you can get these Nikes. [Fashionista, Gifted]Michelle Obama, and possibly the recession, seems to be inspiring more grown-up looks on the catwalk. What’s the term for that? A bildungsrunway? [WSJ]

How does one keep up? Models are changing their hair left right and centre: Ali Stephens and Coco have both gone short and now Ikeliene Stange has gone blonde. At least we can still count on Agyness Deyn. [Modelinia, Oh So Coco, Hint]

Toronto Fashion Week: Day one

Nathan Phillips Square was abuzz with L’Oréal Fashion Week banter. Topics du jour included: The article on Robin Kay in Toronto Life, model Coco Rocha walking in the Joe Fresh show, and who was wearing what in the front row. Project Runway winner Evan Biddell’s show kicked off the fashion festivities and drew an impressive crowd, but his collection failed to hold their attention. Note: Reality TV and the runway sometimes don’t mix.

A rainy start to the day – oh mon Dieu, my freshly flat-ironed locks! – so I snuck in a grande Starbucks to wakey wakey while reading the WWD review of Dior yesterday.
