The Best Red Carpet Looks at TIFF 2022
The Toronto International Film Festival is happening, but all we can think about is Queen Elizabeth II, who died yesterday, on the first day. The modern monarch and style icon taught everyone from plebeians to celebrities a thing or two about a red-carpet walkabout. And like they say, the show—in this case the TIFF 2022 […]

Plunging Necklines and Tulle Win Gold at the SAG Awards Red Carpet
Sculptural ruffles, plunging necklines and seemingly endless yards of tulle all earned a prominent place on the red carpet at last night’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. (Technically, it was a silver carpet to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the awards.) Lady Gaga absolutely dominated — just as she […]

Emmys 2015: The 25 best dressed on the red carpet
Between Amy Schumer giving her makeup artist a shout-out during her acceptance speech and John Hamm finally winning the coveted Best Actor in a Drama Series award, let’s just say a lot went down at last night’s Emmy Awards—red carpet included. It was surprising to see that black was the shade of choice for a […]

The week in celebrity style: See who made our top 10 best dressed
Thanks to Monday’s CFDA Awards, last week’s red carpet appearances were a cake walk in glamour (and seriously inspirational for this summer’s wardrobe). Case in point: Gigi Hadid’s sexy pantsuit at Toronto’s Maybelline New York’s 100th anniversary party, which gives new meaning to summer white. Figuring how to work the boyish charm? Look no further […]

Stars, they’re just like us: Why celebrity #TBTs are the ultimate equalizers
A photo posted by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on Nov 5, 2014 at 1:59pm PST The purpose of #TBT is simple: to laugh at yourself before anybody can laugh at you. (Or to humblebrag about how great last week was—even though that defeats the goal entirely.) But what makes the onslaught of our own high school […]

The weekend in celebrity style: See who made our top 10 best dressed

From Shanghai’s grand opening of the new Burberry store to New York’s film festival-filled weekend, there was a lot of competition to make it on our best dressed list. The Tribeca Film Festival officially wrapped up and celebrities ended things with a bang in the fashion department. While stars like Nikki Reed, Elisabeth Moss and Eva Longoria opted to wear dark shades, Keira Knightley pulled out not one but two pastel couture dresses. (Right on trend, Keira!) Sporting the same corseted silhouette from the Chanel Fall 2014 show, Knightley walked the red carpet in a shimmering sequined dress and switched into a simpler standout baby-pink dress for the dinner hosted by the Paris fashion house.

Golden Globes 2014: Burnt-berry lips and tight-lined eyes were the top red carpet beauty trends
See the best beauty trends from the 2014 Golden Globes »
The Golden Globes may be considered a red carpet test-run for the Oscars, but when it comes to beauty, it’s when A-listers tend to go all out. For the 2014 Golden Globes, it was all about bright lip colours and dramatic eye looks. The classic Old Hollywood red lip was ditched in favour of burnt shades of berry and orange. Jennifer Lawrence wore an almost-goth burgundy lip while Lupita Nyong’o added a metallic hit to her dark lipstick shade with a tinge of gold shimmer.
Of course, not everyone went dark: Both Zoe Saldana and Zooey Deschanel opted for a brighter take on the red carpet trend with perfect burnt orange-red pouts. Elisabeth Moss’s lipstick was a stand-out berry colour, just a few shades lighter than the purple hits in her shimmering J. Mendel gown—perhaps berry’s the official colour of award winners, as Cate Blanchette was also wearing it on her lips.

Emmys 2013: From Elisabeth Moss to Kate Mara, the best short hair on the red carpet
See the best hair from the 2013 Emmy Awards »
Short hair is still where it’s at, with above-the-shoulder styles being amongst the best beauty looks on the 2013 Emmy Awards red carpet. From Elisabeth Moss’s cropped platinum cut to Kate Mara’s striking pin-straight style to Claire Danes’ faux bob, the message was clear: to stand out in a sea of Old Hollywood side parts and loose updos, you have to go short.
Not willing to let Betty Draper have all the fun, Elisabeth Moss debuted her freshly-dyed blonde hair on the Emmys red carpet. Channeling a little bit of a Charlize Theron vibe, the tousled, modern style was a new look for Moss—and a fierce one at that. As for Mad Men’s other leading ladies, both January Jones and Christina Hendricks kept their short cuts curly.

We go behind the scenes of the Mad Men collection for Banana Republic with Janie Bryant
Season 5 of Mad Men may be delayed until 2012, but thanks to Banana Republic‘s exclusive, 65-piece capsule collection by the show’s costume designer, Janie Bryant, we’ve got something to tide us over until then. Since its release last week, we’ve started feeling pangs of Draper-fever and so, in an attempt to calm ourselves, we chatted with Bryant about the collection and her work on the hit show.
