Fashion news: Kate Moss is shy, Abbey Lee and Dree Hemingway drown in Chanel bags, and will Uncle Karl be on Gossip Girl?
Karl Lagerfeld has just released another short film featuring Dree Hemmingway and Abbey Lee taking a breather after a Chanel spree, hence the film’s title Shopping Fever. Of course, a Lagerfeld short wouldn’t be a Lagerfeld short without Baptiste Giabiconi smouldering expertly at the camera. [The Cut]
More in Lagerfeld-related news: He was spotted with Blake Lively leaving the Ritz Carlton in Paris, so naturally rumours of the Kaiser appearing on Gossip Girl are now rampant. We hope this is true, but it’s probably not. [Glamour]

Fashion news: Gen Art shutters, Anna Wintour dances and Jean Paul Gaultier designs a creepy bedspread
Gen Art, an organization that supported and showcased up-and-coming fashion, art and music talent–including Zac Posen and Vena Cava–has closed its doors. A statement on their website points to the sudden end of a corporate partnership, which Gen Art had been counting on for revenue. [Gen Art]
Anna Wintour danced–danced–with Diddy at the Met Ball. [Jezebel]
Jean Paul Gaultier is designing a line for the haute, modern furniture company Roche Bobois, whose Missoni-covered modular sofas we have long coveted. The line hasn’t been released yet, but we hope it won’t look like the creepy bedspread above, which Gaultier designed for a show in Paris. [WWD, sub req]

Fashion news: London looters, Erin Fetherston goes to Juicy Couture and Kelly Cutrone Takes to YouTube
Kell on Earth hasn’t even hit Canada yet, but we’ll be lucky to get the first season, because plans for a second seem to be lagging. Kelly Cutrone, clearly not waiting around, has instead set up a YouTube channel, KellyCutroneTV, where you can get “daily missives” from the People’s Revolution team. [Styleite] Read our interview with Kelly Cutrone.
There has been a string of burglaries hitting London’s high end shops, and last night Chanel was the target (clearly the burglers have good taste). Over the past two years other retail stores including Dolce & Gabbana, Harvey Nichols, Anya Hindmarch and Salvatore Ferragamo have been robbed, but police haven’t confirmed yet if it’s the same high-end hitters that keep looting the shops. Kate Moss and Mario Testino are teaming up to release a book. The 1,500 limited-edition signed copies will go for a cool 305 Euros. [Fabsugar UK via Stylelist]

Fashion news: Jil Sander to launch a lower-priced line, babies for Georgina Chapman and Pearl Lowe and is Anna Wintour a closet Green Day fan?
Jil Sander–the label–is creating a lower-priced line, Jil Sander Navy. It’s set to hit stores in January 2011 and there will be prints. [WWD]
Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman and husband Harvey Weinstein revealed that she is five months pregnant. We cannot wait to see the baby clothes that come out of this. [The Cut]
And the baby boom doesn’t end there: Designer, and mom of Daisy, Pearl Lowe has announced that she is pregnant with her fifth child. [Vogue UK]
Spotted: Anna Wintour sitting front row at the Green Day musical, American Idiot. We never would have called that one. [Daily Front Row]

Dispatches from London: LFW Avsh Alom, Aquascutum, and Twenty8Twelve
I made it onto Garance Doré! I can’t believe it. Besides being completely and utterly starstruck (she is the nicest lady, and so beautiful!), her comments about how London street fashion is much more cutting-edge (and borderline trashy, in some cases) than in New York, where things seem to be more polished and often very brand-driven, is definitely on the mark.
In any case, I’m loving some of the crazy fashion, which was at its sparkly extreme at yesterday’s Avsh Alom presentation. I have never seen so much glittery half-shaved hair, one-false-eyelashed craziness, and ridiculous platform shoes in one room in my entire life!

Dispatches from London: LFW opening weekend
Welcome to London Fashion Week! After religiously checking the weather for days before my departure, this fashionista has been blessed with dry weather and sunshine—shocking for this city.
No major Anna Wintour sightings yet—although she is reported to be here covering the shows for the 25th anniversary of the British Fashion Council. I did spy her at the fall shows last February in New York, though, so I know exactly what the tiny bobbed one looks like in person. I’m keeping my peepers peeled!
