The best beauty products to use while you’re sick
The season of colds, fevers and sore throats is suddenly upon us again. And while hopefully you’ve been drinking plenty of liquids, getting lots of sleep and washing your hands frequently, sometimes no matter what you do to protect yourself, you fall sick—usually at the worst possible time. As tempting as it can be to […]

10 facial mists to try this summer (because what’s more glam than spritzing fancy water on your face?)
Well, we begged and begged and finally, summer has actually arrived and it’s…humid. Every year, while we’re in the depths of winter, we somehow forget about all of the less-than-wonderful aspects of warmer weather until the sun emerges once again and all of a sudden we’ve gone from frozen to sticky. This summer, keep a […]

Saying we’re infatuated by all things Korean beauty-related right now is probably an understatement. Holt Renfrew celebrates 175 years with specially-designed pieces from Christian Louboutin, Bobbi Brown, Michael Kors and a special appearance by Elton John!
See all the anniversary pieces! »
We might as well pitch a tent and set up camp outside Holt Renfrew’s sleek Bloor Street entrance, because come September, it will be the place to be. Not only is Holt’s taking part in Fashion’s Night Out festivities September 6 (stay tuned for details!), but the store is also ringing in it’s monumental 175th birthday. In true Holt’s fashion, the Hot @175 anniversary will be rung in in style, with a slew of designer collaborations for sale in (what else?) signature magenta.
From its start in 1837 as a hat and cap shop in Quebec City to the go-to luxury mecca it is today, Holt’s has undeniably had a starring role in Canada’s retail legacy. To fête the occasion, everything from high-fashion designs like Christian Louboutin’s magenta-platform sling backs to fun finds like Pantone’s “Holt Renfrew Magenta” notebook will prove that even at 175, Holt’s still has it.

Afternoon beauty fix: How to rid yourself of post-brow wax bumps
I’ve been waxing my eyebrows for a number of years, but recently I’ve started getting bumps around my brows in the days after a session. Help!
Those little bumps, which don’t always produce sebum like typical acne would, may be a build-up of dead skin cells trapped beneath an aggravated hair follicle. Something similar used to happen to me and I reacted by asking my esthetician to refrain from applying any baby powder or aloe after a wax.
