Fashion news: Lanvin’s spring campaign looks windy, Gaultier does sailor-inspired footwear, smell like Beyoncé, and more
Jamie Bochert is headlining the Lanvin ads for spring 2010. “I thought maybe we need a bit of action,” said artistic director Alber Elbaz. Shot by photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign has Bochert running, bending and dodging in feminine Lanvin ruffles. Bochert also poses over a toilet in Marc Jacobs’ spring campaign. [WWD]
Beyoncé is launching her first fragrance. Heat comes out at the end of January, inspired by all the pyrotechnics a Beyoncé concert demands. “A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat,’” the singer told WWD. Suffice to say, the ads will be steamy. [WWD]

Fashion news: Victoria Beckham and Marc Jacobs do fur, designers create Swarovski dresses and more
Photo via The Cut Victoria Beckham was recently spotted lunching with Marc Jacobs and LVMH exec Edo Jae, whom tweeted that “they’re talking about a line with fur” post-meeting.
[Elle UK]Chanel has a secret club of fashion friends who are tapped for feedback on collection previews. DJ Leigh Lezark revealed she test-drives products for Chanel, along with Caroline Sieber and Poppy Delevigne. How do we sign up? [The Cut]
The release of Mattel’s So in Style collection of black dolls, the first ever with wider noses, fuller lips and in a variety of skin shades, has been met with disappointment. Parents are saying the prevalence of green and blue eyes as well as long, fine hair is not representative of the race. Mattel is listening though, and is working on the fall 2010 collection, adding a doll with more of an Afro hairstyle. [WSJ]

Alber Elbaz gives us a reason to write letters again
As if you need another reason to go to Paris: Alber Elbaz has designed two stamps for the French postal service that commemorate Lanvin’s 120th anniversary. And they’re heart-shaped! Elbaz’s cartoon doodles will be available in the new year, while pencils and notebooks will come out later this month. A specialty Lanvin store will feature […]

Paris seat style: Little Lanvinite
Some would say spoiled little princess. I say, oh my god, where did you get that mailbox clutch? In fact, this pretty (very) young thing was just one in dozens of wee lasses at Friday’s Lanvin spectacular, making it an all-ages cocktail party. Mai tais were served to make the wait swing by, and though […]

TIFF Vote: Do you like Natalie Portman’s red carpet look?
Photography by James Helmer Natalie Portman can pretty much do no wrong, style wise. She always looks so cute and put together. It’s maddening, really. The short, pink floral print Lanvin dress she sported at the Love and Other Impossible Pursuits premiere [see our pics from the red carpet] was just about spot on, but we’re not really digging the big flower on the top (sorry, Alber). Perhaps Sex & the City has ruined oversized blooms for us. Do you agree?
Check out a close-up after the jump and tell us what you think.

Video: Salvador Dalí est fou for Lanvin chocolate
Not just a surrealist painter, Salvador Dalí was also a prolific pitchman. He fronted for Alka-Seltzer, Braniff and in 1968, even Lanvin. Actually Lanvin chocolate. (The house went through a bit of a rough period.) A chocolate apparently so delicious, your handlebar mustache will vibrate. [Jezebel]

I wanna be a supermodel
The sun was beaming on our shoulders and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, but last week, the real heat was inside Toronto’s Metropolitan Hotel, where 20 girls—including CNTM winner Meaghan Waller–anxiously awaited the start of this year’s installment of Elmer Olsen Models’ Bootcamp 2 Bigtime. Every year, the agency’s top new faces are […]

Paris: Lanvin, Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake and Pierre Hardy Fall 2009
LANVIN Fall 2009. Photography by Peter Stigter Day two starts not with a bang, but with a “meh” at the Issey Miyake show. Designer Dai Fujiwara collaborated with karate masters to develop flexible fabrics for his latest offerings and the “katas” that the rent-a-karate-masters performed almost stole the show.

Fashion(able) rocks
By Natalia Ksiazek
Since diamonds are a bit out of my price range, when it comes to sparkling accessories, crystals are it for now. But with Swarovski’s (swarovski.com) new fall collection, Passages of Night, I’ll happily wait for the higher-priced ice.

Paris: Day eight

Shown: Nina Ricci Fall 2008. Photography by Peter Stigter.
So sad that fashion week is drawing to an end. I have truly loved every moment–from the mad crush at the tent entrance to the metallic accents on coats, bags and shoes to the mid-afternoon macaroon fashion refuels.
