Fashion news: Michael Kors sets model age limits, Marc Jacobs doesn’t “find clothes sexy at all,” McQueen’s ashes to be scattered in Scotland
Photography by Peter Stigter Last night at Harvard, Anna Wintour, Michael Kors and Natalia Vodianova participated in a panel discussion on “Health Matters: Weight and Wellness in the World of Fashion,” where Kors spoke out about the age of models, and announced that he will only hire models 16 years and older, saying, “The age of models really has to become a priority. We need to give these girls a chance to grow up.” Kors also stated that he won’t hire models who show any sign of an eating disorder, because “You shouldn’t support it or encourage it or support it, just say no.” Meanwhile Vodianova admitted to a post-pregnancy eating disorder due to the pressure to get back into modelling almost immediately. “I don’t find clothes sexy at all,” Marc Jacobs told a crowd last night at New York’s Museum at F.I.T. “I find people sexy, and I find personalities fascinating and sexy and appealing and charming. So a sexy girl wrapped in a sheet is a sexy girl, and an un-sexy girl in a low-cut dress is still an un-sexy girl.” Also, he wears briefs, if you wanted to know. [The Cut]

Karl Lagerfeld has an interesting theory about porn’s effect on crime rates. He told Bruce LaBruce in Vice: “Frustration is the mother of crime, and so there would be much more crime without prostitutes and porn movies…[but] I personally only like high-class escorts. I don’t like sleeping with people I really love. I don’t want to sleep with them because sex cannot last, but affection can last forever. I think this is healthy. And for the way the rich live, this is possible. But the other world, I think they need porn.” [Vogue UK]

New York: Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Tory Burch and Anna Sui Fall 2009
OSCAR DE LA RENTA Fall 2009. Photography by Peter Stigter How did my Thursday begin? With substance and a touch of glamour at Michael Kors. Think neo-classics, sculptural details, lean trousers, graphic bareness and lots of golden camel and olive green. (And of course, black—the go-to shade for the chic elite.)
