Sterling Cooper for sale: Buy one of Joan’s dresses, or perhaps Don Draper’s desk
Sterling Cooper‘s assets are being auctioned off a piece at a time, which would be sad, were it not a set for a fictional company and if we weren’t distracted by the fact that you can also buy one of Joan “Joanie” Harris’ famously Roger-attracting dresses. Pieces from the Mad Men set, office furniture mostly, are being auctioned off on eBay to benefit City of Hope, a L.A. County hospital focused on cancer treatment.

Vera Wang is doing a TV show
Marc Jacobs may not be doing a television show, but Vera Wang is. The designer told Style.com’s Darrell Hartman: “You’re getting a scoop,” Wang said. “I’m doing a TV show. It’s coming. I don’t know when, or how, but it’s coming.” No details were given, but it’s no stretch to guess it will be reality-based […]

This documentary has it in the bag. (Sorry.)
Even the miracle of life needs a makeover today. Discovery Channel’s The Great Sperm Race (airs June 21, discoverychannel.ca), a British-Canadian co-production is inspired by the fact that any given ejaculation can produce 250 million sperm, but only one “winner” will meet the egg. The squiggly journey of sperm through the female reproductive system is blown up into live-action battlefield proportions. The tongue-in-cheek, albeit factual, approach involves auditing your average couple getting down to business while actor/sperm—millions of them—wait down there in the dangling meatballs, preparing for battle.

Coco attacks New York with a microphone
Back in February the fashion blogerati were all chattering wildly about the newly (and now no longer) redheaded Coco Rocha gunning around New York Fashion Week wielding a mic. The Canadian mannequin was on assignment for E! Canada, chronicling her life during fashion’s holy week and interviewing a barrage of personalities. The results, Coco Rocha Fashion Attack NYC, which airs tonight at 10 p.m. EST on E! (check your local listings), are an hour-long chronicle of model mayhem—makeup at DVF, a fitting at Michael Kors, agent meetings and house parties.

Cause celeb
With so many well-known charities raising money on behalf of those with HIV/AIDS, a recent article stating that a cure may be less than 10 years away might make someone blink, but the positivity is there. And nothing was more evident at this year’s Bloor Street Entertains, where chefs, venues and volunteers donated their time on behalf of CANFAR to host a slew of fundraising dinners at some of the hautest locations in the city in an effort to raise $500,000 in a single night.

Night of the TV stars
FASHION’s Rani Sheen guest blogs from the Geminis.
Canada’s TV personalities turned out in their awards-show best on Friday night for the 23rd Annual Gemini Awards in Toronto. The InterContinental’s soaring glass lobby was a grand setting for pre-show cocktails, although the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s basement was a slightly less glamorous venue for the awards.
