New York: Zac Posen shows stripped-down sportswear for fall
With a 9 a.m. time slot on a Monday morning, it’s clear that designer Zac Posen is toning down the theatrics and getting down to business–without sacrificing great style. Stand-outs in his fall lineup included a camel cape, ivy coloured wide-leg pants, flirty skater skirts, plenty of red velvet and one very elegant long-sleeve, dove […]

Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper are the next faces of M.A.C’s Viva Glam. “People think if you’re strong about your sexuality, you must have a d–k,” Gaga told WWD. “And that’s what this is about. You can be strong about your sexuality and be a smart woman who wears lipstick and high heels and looks pretty.” [WWD]
Marc Jacobs is suing Christian Audigier’s line Ed Hardy for allegedly knocking off one of his handbags. Jacobs’ legal reps state that any infringement “has been intentional and wil[l]ful, calculated specifically to trade off the goodwill that plaintiffs have developed in their successful Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon tote bags.” [Vogue UK]

And speaking of daily collaboration announcements: Target has one in the works with print masters Liberty of London. The line of fashion, accessories, home decor and more launches in March. [WWD]

Fashion news: Zac Posen’s hipster line, Michelle Trachtenberg designs for Coach and fashion industry gets database
Zac Posen is launching a low-priced line called Z Spoke set to launch initially as a Saks exclusive. Posen claims the line has an “urban hipster quality” and is not just “Zac-for-less.” The line starts at $78 for a t-shirt–not quite as “lower-priced” as hipsters would hope. [The Cut]
Project Runway season six contestant and resident crank Irina Shabayeva stole her reasons on “Reasons to Love New York” T-shirt print directly from New York Magazine’s 2008 article of the same name. This after she accused fellow contestant Althea Harper of cribbing one of her designs and after Shabayeva attempted to put someone else’s drawing on one of her final collection pieces. [The Cut]

New York: Tommy Hilfiger, Malandrino, Ports 1961, Calvin Klein and Zac Posen Fall 2009
Don’t you just love starting the day with a tea and a little Tommy?
My first show of the day was Tommy Hilfiger, but before I talk clothes, I must talk crushes. My main squeeze—well, officially Diane Kruger’s—is Joshua Jackson. He brought along his million-dollar smile, baby face and jet black Wayfarers (and Kruger). Aw, Pacey….you’re all grown up but dang, you have that boyish charm down pat.
