Fashion news: Rodarte sisters skip White House Ceremony, Katy’s new fragrance and Stella McCartney wants the Queen’s guards in vegan hats
Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte failed to show up at a ceremony at the White House, where they were to be honoured with the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for fashion design. A representative said there was a last minute change in plans and they had to attend a family obligation in Los Angeles. [WWD]

Fashion news: Michael Kors sets model age limits, Marc Jacobs doesn’t “find clothes sexy at all,” McQueen’s ashes to be scattered in Scotland
Last night at Harvard, Anna Wintour, Michael Kors and Natalia Vodianova participated in a panel discussion on “Health Matters: Weight and Wellness in the World of Fashion,” where Kors spoke out about the age of models, and announced that he will only hire models 16 years and older, saying, “The age of models really has to become a priority. We need to give these girls a chance to grow up.” Kors also stated that he won’t hire models who show any sign of an eating disorder, because “You shouldn’t support it or encourage it or support it, just say no.” Meanwhile Vodianova admitted to a post-pregnancy eating disorder due to the pressure to get back into modelling almost immediately. “I don’t find clothes sexy at all,” Marc Jacobs told a crowd last night at New York’s Museum at F.I.T. “I find people sexy, and I find personalities fascinating and sexy and appealing and charming. Here’s BryanBoy–that’s Monsieur Bryan Boy to you, as per his calligraphied LV invite. The thrilla from Manila has been wearing Rad Hourani around this town all week, and looking–his word–fabu. After the Vuitton show, we talked about how cool Canadians are right now: Rad, Mark Fast, Jeremy Laing.. “What’s in your water?” he demanded to know. Well, we have some of the cleanest tap water in the world, so not a lot. Maybe it’s in our beer?
