Fashion news: The denim bubble, marathon fashions and Naomi Campbell sued
One of our fave FASHION Lovely/blogger/models, Hanneli Mustaparta has bleached out her brows for a shoot. [@HanneliM]
Surprise! The premium denim market was overinflated. “Charging $600 for jeans for no reason at all — those days are over,” You Nguyen of Levi’s told the New York Times. Ridiculous, right? You can buy a whole Where the Wild Things Are jumpsuit for that. Much more sensible. [NYTimes]

A D&G showdown at the O.K. Corral
Photos via nymag.com Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce took a trip to the O.K. Corral for their Spring 2010 D&G collection. There were plenty of ripped jeans and snap-up denim shirts, but more than cowboy chic, this was high-noon Wild West camp:

Edmonton: Zeroing in on your fashion identity
Although Identity Clothing (14263-23 Ave., 780-439-9043, identity-clothing.com) first opened its doors six years ago, I only stumbled on it after a recent trip to a nearby salon. I thought my newly shorn locks deserved a little something and the shop did not disappoint. Owner Kelly Noland has stocked his boutique with Hugo Boss, cooler-than-thou denim from William Rast and Joe’s Jeans, contemporary lines like Sand and Pringle of Scotland, as well as formal eveningwear.

Winnipeg: Pop-up Chip & Pepper
Right: Pieces from the Chip & Pepper fall collection; Left: The Kenora pop-up store Every woman has that go-to pair of jeans that makes her feel sexy. Mine are called (hilariously enough) “the walk of shame.” The only problem is, I’ve loved them so much that both knees have worn out and there are other glaring signs of: “WARNING! These jeans may give way at the most inopportune moment.”
As bad that sounds, I still love them and I’m having a hard time sending them to denim heaven. Thankfully, Chip & Pepper have opened up a temporary home (137 Main St. S., Kenora, Ontario, 807-467-2734) in a beautiful summer spot—Lake of the Woods.
