As we prepare to dive head first into a new season of trends to try, must-haves to buy and warmer weather to embrace, we take a look back at the weeks that started it all. Hitting the runways back in September, the Spring 2013 fashion week season brought us the hula hoop bag (Chanel), the Google glass headset (DVF), the ever-revolving designer door (Raf/Hedi/Jil and so on). Take a visual trip back to Spring 2013, as our globetrotting editors distil 28 of the most memorable moments from New York to Paris and back again.

Does being fashion obsessed require us to be technologically apt? Internet juggernaut Google seems to think so. Their newly released iPad application Google Catalogues proves it. The multifaceted app lets users browse digital versions of apparel, beauty, jewellery, and home décor catalogues. Users can also find products in nearby stores, discover new brands, and receive notifications when new products from their favourite labels arrive in store. What can’t Google do? Apparently, they can’t provide us Canadians the same access, as Google Catalogues is not yet available in our iTunes store. Merde! Fortunately for us, there are a number of fashion apps making their way to the market that should do more than satisfy.

Jean Paul Gaultier was in Montreal last week to unveil plans for a career retrospective at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Called “The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk” the exhibit will include garments, sketches, photography and audiovisual elements from the designer’s 35-year career.
