Check out all the best style from Osheaga »
So many epic music festivals happen over the August long weekend that it takes an afternoon just to catch up on the fashion! From Toronto’s OVO and Veld festivals to Chicago’s Lollapalooza, there’s plenty for music lovers. Montreal’s Osheaga, a festival consistently praised for its lineup and smooth execution, proves to be a competitive event in the summer festival circuit.
More than 135 thousand attendees made the annual summer pilgrimage to Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène in Montreal for the three-day music and art festival. Nearly 120 acts were jammed into 72 hours over 6 stages, festivalgoers swayed to A-list acts like Outkast, Lorde, Haim, as well as homegrown MTL heroes Chromeo and Half Moon Run.

Our top 10 music festival style picks: Relive summer 2013 with the best of the season’s non-hobo looks
See our top festival fashion picks »
No fashion challenge is quite as sticky (literally with temperatures at Pitchfork Festival nearing 40 degrees Celsius) as dressing for a music festival. With the weather and the crowds (don’t forget the likelihood of the grass quickly turning to sludge) the list of variables to consider is a long one. From coast to coast, the music festivals of summer 2013 have taken us far and wide. We snapped an array of stylish bohemians at California’s ever-popular Coachella and hip trend-setters at Chicago’s Pitchfork. We documented country’s most fabulous at Bowmanville’s newly established Boots and Hearts festival and young trendsetters and New York’s Governor’s Ball. We’re doing a festival style roundup- taking a look back at the ensembles that had set fashion senses a-tingling.

Osheaga 2013: 70 festival style photos of crop tops, tie-dye prints and the best hat ever (YOLO!)
See the Osheaga 2013 street style photos »
Is the August long weekend the end of music festival season? Say it ain’t so! However, in order to keep you in the spirit of summer festivals, we have a whole batch of street style snaps fresh from Osheaga 2013. The three-day indie festival is reaching peak popularity, with bands like Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend and Kendrick Lamar drawing fans from across the country to Montreal. And, thanks to the style-spotting eye of photographer Phil Birnbaum, it seems like the festival fashion at Osheaga is just as strong as the musical line-up. This may have something to do with the Osheaga’s downtown location, allowing attendees to stay in hotels rather than camping onsite.

Osheaga 2012: 45 photos of cut-off clad festivalgoers (and Florence Welch!) braving the heat in Montreal this weekend
It’s no small feat to stay stylish and festival-ready when Mother Nature decides to cram lightning, torrential rain and paralyzing heat into the space of three short days, but as a whole, Osheaga’s festivalgoers managed to take the unpredictable weather this past weekend fashionably in stride.
Though typical festival garb showed up in full force (think flower crowns, ratty shorts and boho fringe), there was a decidedly more feminine and ‘50s-inspired sartorial lean. From a mint gingham halter dress to a bralette-and-circle-skirt combo, Osheaga’s female attendees somehow managed to strike a Betty-Draper-meets-Pocahontas golden mean, adding in unexpected elements to their femme pieces like an oversized pewter shark tooth or Montauk moccasins.
