Oprah Winfrey And Others Appear in Vancouver to Support of David Foster’s Annual Fundraiser
Vancouver isn’t known for star-studded red carpets, but B.C. born and bred music producer David Foster drew the big names Saturday night. For his 30th anniversary Miracle Gala and Concert, at Rogers Arena Oprah, Steven Tyler and Bo Derek all walked the carpet—purple, in this case. As did Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, Jay Leno, Dr. Phil, […]

9 Feel-Good Summer Songs that Aren’t ‘Despacito’
Every summer, like clockwork, we all *try* to bestow the title of ‘The Song of the Summer’ on one lucky single. But unlike previous years when it was easy to pinpoint what that song was, we’re having a bit of difficulty naming this year’s winner. Could it really be Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” […]

Why Didn’t Justin Bieber Celebrate Canada’s Big Birthday?
Canada is kind of having a moment right now. Our musical exports are topping the pop-charts, our Ryans are the hottest in Hollywood and our national leader is a politically progressive international heartthrob. Just this past weekend, we celebrated our 150th birthday. Every Most Canadians came out to celebrate the big sesquicentennial anniversary. On Saturday, Carly Rae Jepsen, Alessia […]

Best celebrity colour changes of the season: 7 blonde, red and even grey (!) dye jobs worth trying
See the best celebrity hair colour changes up close »
We’re smack in the middle of the lazy, hazy days of summer and, if you’re anything like us, heat and humidity equal doing as little as possible when it comes to hair and makeup. Which makes it the perfect time to mix things up with a new hair colour—aside from an afternoon spent at the salon (or at the hands of a trusted friend) a new shade is the easiest way to refresh your otherwise low-maintenance look.
In order to inspire a change, we’re taking a look back at some of the best celebrity dye jobs from the past few months. While a number of these looks were all part of the day’s work—like Jennifer Lawrence ditching her Katniss hair colour for honey blonde or Emma Stone returning to her (faux) red roots—other dye jobs seemed to signal a change in personality. There is no doubt, after all, that a new hair colour can make you feel like a new person. (At least, that’s what Miley Cyrus keeps telling us!)

Demi Lovato’s blonde vs. Carly Rae Jepsen’s red: Which popstar’s new hair colour do you like best?
Who doesn’t love a good change? Two of the music industry’s top talents, Demi Lovato and Carly Rae Jepsen, certainly enjoy switching things up—both popstars debuted radically new hair colours last night and we absolutely love the results.
First up: Demi Lovato. She’s ditched her raven locks for a delightful shade of honey-blonde. (Lovato showed off her new hair colour yesterday evening, when she was honoured for her charitable work at the National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day.) Although we’ve seen her go blonde before, this time around the the X Factor judge paired the colour change with a shorter cut. Together, the new colour and cut has a very sophisticated look and it paired beautifully with her all-white ensemble at the ceremony.

Grammys 2013: 10 of the best dressed singers and starlets on the red carpet
See the 10 best dressed looks from the 2013 Grammys »
Despite a memo from CBS warning stars to cover up, there was still much skin to be seen on the 2013 Grammy Awards red carpet. Most notable was Katy Perry, who stunned in a mint-green Gucci Resort 2013 dress that was skin-tight and featured an embellished keyhole detail which showed off her ample cleavage. Perry’s look was part Priscilla Presley, part Lana Del Rey and she certainly pulled off the ’70s-inspired style well.
Solange Knowles also wore green, though her beaded Ralph & Russo Couture gown was more of a vibrant emerald hue. Solange is known for her quirky and colourful outfits and her neon-pink Louboutins added personality to her look. Solange’s dress featured a thigh-high slit—a style that was seen on a number of starts last night at the 2013 Grammys. (Clearly Angie’s right leg is still dictating red carpet trends!) Jennifer Lopez took the slit to the next level with an Anthony Vaccarello Spring 2013 gown that seemed to almost tuck in like a pair of hot pants at the top of her thigh. The asymmetrical draped black silk gown certainly showed off her toned body and was set off with shiny gold accessories—and a matching pointy gold manicure.
Black and white was definitely a trend at the 2013 Grammys, as it was for the Golden Globes and SAG Awards red carpet. Beyoncé wore both black and white in an architectural jumpsuit by Osman. The somewhat casual-yet-still-smoking look was certainly one of a kind on the red carpet and Beyoncé accessorized with black and white cuffs and a red pout. Our former cover girl Carly Rae Jepsen wowed in a dark, metallic Roberto Cavalli gown. The mermaid silhouette looked amazing with her dark hair, porcelain skin and enviable body. Carrie Underwood also wore a black strapless mermaid silhouette gown by Roberto Cavalli—though where Jepsen’s was beaded, Underwood’s dress featured lace and embroidery.

Celebrities on New Year’s Eve 2013: What Carly Rae Jepsen, Kim Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow and more were wearing at midnight
See our gallery of celebrities on New Year’s Eve 2013 »
2013 is finally upon us, and as many people are probably struggling to remember what they did for New Year’s Eve, the proof—for better or worse—is ready for a peek on social media. New Year’s Eve is often the best time to take a fashion risk, and many celebrities did just that. At the annual Dick Clark New Years Rockin’ Eve blowout celebration in New York’s Times Square, Taylor Swift updated the classic motorcycle jacket with the addition of red sequins as she performed a slew of her hits and planted a kiss on beau Harry Stiles of One Direction at the stroke of midnight. Yeah, we’re not above the swoon. Carly Rae Jepsen wore red as well, fashioned in a long and frilly ball skirt by Sachin + Babi (under which she adorably wore long johns) paired with black lace gloves, Madonna-style.

Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen perform at the Grey Cup in black on black on black outfits
We’ll never say never to watching Canadian pop stars, Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen perform, so last night’s 100th Grey Cup was a not only a treat for our ears but also a treat for our eyes because we get to revel in their wardrobe choices.
Bieber had a big weekend with his sartorial selections from meeting Prime Minister Stephen Harper in a train conductor inspired set of overalls and a backwards cap to performing at the halftime show in an all leather harem pants, black leather tank top, and a single glove (an ode to Michael Jackson, perhaps?). Lately, JBiebs is all about the harem pant and has worn almost identical pairs of pants in red, grey, black, and white—while performing and hanging out with Selena Gomez. The set of overalls he decided to wear to meet our Prime Minister came with a lot of backlash but Harper cleared it all up by tweeting “In fairness to Justin Bieber, I told him I would be wearing my overalls too”. It seems that overalls could truly be making a comeback, after all we did see a fuchsia pair walk down Phillip Lim’s Spring runway.
