With TIFF 2014 happening in approximately six weeks (!), we’ve been itching to find out which A-list stars will be making their way into Toronto beginning September 4th. Lupita Nyong’o’s Top 10 Red Carpet Looks
See Lupita Nyong’o’s top 10 red carpet looks »
After winning an Oscar for her breakout performance in 12 Years a Slave and becoming the international face of Lacôme, Lupita Nyong’o is capping off a successful few months by being named People Magazine’s Most Beautiful Person 2014. Is there a more befitting head to place that crown? We think not.
Not only has Nyong’o become a fashion icon in her own right, she also continues to question and change beauty standards around the globe. In her cover story, the actress told People Magazine that she never dreamed she would be deemed the “most beautiful,” equating beauty with “light skin and long, flowing hair,” as a child.
Nyong’o is known for exploring the colour spectrum when walking the red carpet, giving us kaleidoscopic hits in Calvin Klein white, Dior green and Ralph Lauren red. Here are Lupita Nyong’o’s top 10 red carpet looks thus far.

While you were sleeping: A writer takes the pyjama dressing trend out of the boudoir and into the light of day
When I was growing up, I used to visit my grandmother in Palm Beach, where she wintered in a conch-pink pseudo Spanish-style condo called (accurately) La Bonne Vie. My favourite activity was grocery shopping at Palm Beach’s Publix—a glamorized supermarket washed a bunny-nose pink with valet parking and bougainvillea-swathed archways. Here, tycoons with Hermès-orange suntans and manses on Billionaire’s Row shuffled through the aisles dressed in silken Persian pyjamas and monogrammed velvet bedroom slippers, carts full of crab salad, their long-suffering chauffeurs waiting outside in purring Bentleys. Wearing pyjamas outside of the bedroom has historically been the habit of the egregiously wealthy, the eccentric, the hyper-medicated on day passes—and the freelance writer.

Inside the David Cronenberg exhibit opening at TIFF Bell Lightbox: 30 photos of faux scars, Mugwumps and more!
See the photos from the Cronenberg: Evolution opening party »
Spooksville made its way into TIFF Bell Lightbox on Wednesday night for the opening party of Cronenberg: Evolution (November 1-January 19), the exhibit celebrating the city’s most lauded director. The retrospective of David Cronenberg’s 40 years in film opens up a cabinet of curiosities with trippy artifacts, set designs and rare footage from various Cronenberg films including Crash, The Fly, Videodrome and Cosmopolis. My personal favourites: the original “bio-ports” used on Jude Law and Jennifer Jason Leigh in eXistenZ (remember theeeeese?!) and a menacing Mugwump situated at a Naked Lunch bar setting for guests to pose for photos with. One such guest to take the photo opportunity: David Cronenberg himself, who posed alongside TIFF CEO Piers Handling and creative director Noah Cowan, earlier that day.

TIFF 2013: Bring on the A-listers! 13 best dressed picks from the red carpets, parties and premieres
See the TIFF 2013 red carpet best dressed picks »
After ten days of red carpet premieres, after parties and celebrity stalking, TIFF 2013 has officially come to an end.
Possibly the best (and most well-dressed) year yet, Toronto had quite the roster of A-list celebrities in town to promote new films and projects. While the crush-worthy men looked as dapper as always, it was really the ladies who stole the show, bringing glamorous outfits onto the red carpet.
Cool blue tones were a favourite amongst the stars (possibly a nod to the emerging Spring 2014 trend?) with the colour appearing on Olivia Wilde, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Aniston—to name a few.
And while celebrities like Taylor Swift, Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson opted for the minimalist yet sultry look in solid colours, how could anyone forget Keira Knightley’s whimsical printed dress by Mary Katrantzou.
Not ready to let go of TIFF just yet? From Nicole Kidman’s tailored pantsuit to Kate Winslet’s glowing pregnancy style, we’ve rounded up the top TIFF red carpet looks and all you have to do is vote for your favourite.

TIFF 2013: 23 gorgeous photos of Jennifer Aniston on the Life of Crime red carpet for the festival’s closing night
See the Jennifer Aniston TIFF 2013 red carpet photos »
What a closing day the TIFF 2013 crowd was treated to! Adoring fans waited patiently for Jennifer Aniston to grace the red carpet at the Life Of Crime screening and boy was she worth the wait.
In a classic Vivienne Westwood dress, Jennifer Aniston stepped onto the red carpet to a frenzy of screaming fans and camera flashes. The sleeveless and corseted dress in a powder-blue hue was paired with beige Westwood heels and metallic drop earrings. With makeup done by Nars, Aniston’s eyes were enhanced with a dove-grey colour palette inspired by the dress. The look was completed with a natural neutral-pink lip. Her highly coveted hair was pumped up with a bit of volumn and new blonde highlights, but otherwise left to hang on her bare shoulders. What can we say: Aniston looked fantastic in a style that deviated from the love of her signature little black dress.

TIFF 2013: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson close out Grey Goose Soho House with pizza and cocktails
See the Soho House party images »
It’s impossible to talk about Joseph Gordon-Levitt without compromising myself as an even slightly serious journalist. He’s hot. I’m crushing. Das it. At Grey Goose Soho House’s last TIFF 2013 bash, I creeped JGL heavily for the second year in a row. And by that I mean stared longingly, then went home and YouTube’d his makeout scenes like a boss.
Arriving just after 9PM, Levitt settled into a corner on the first floor with co-star Scarlett Johansson and several well-suited gents. He looked pretty composed, given the mad dash he’d made earlier that evening, but why would he not. He’s JGL, and these girls feel me. Holding court with said group for most of the night snacking on pizza and toasting with the House’s signature TIFF vodka cocktails, the co-stars looked pretty chillaxed, and stayed till around midnight. Till next TIFF, BB!

Taylor Swift vs. Mila Kunis vs. Moran Atias: Who wore white best at TIFF 2013?
See the white looks up close »
Plunging necklines, high slits and waist cut outs, oh my! Kelso’s girl, Mila Kunis, her Third Person co-star Moran Atias and our favourite country star Taylor Swift hit TIFF red carpets and bashes in enviable white frocks.
For her TIFF 2013 debut, a smokey-eyed Mila Kunis was sultry in a white doily-esque textured dress with a plunging neckline at the Third Person premiere. The Burberry Prorsum Resort 2014 crotchet dress was paired with drop emerald earrings by Nam Cho for Gemfields and Christian Louboutin pewter python heels.

Kate Winslet vs. Melissa George: Who did pregnant best on the TIFF 2013 red carpet?
See the pregnancy red carpet looks up close »
While the royal baby bump watch has sadly come to an end number of A-list stars have been seen flaunting their motherhood on the red carpet including two glowing mothers-to-be Kate Winslet and Melissa George at TIFF 2013 this past week.
Last Saturday, Kate Winslet arrived on the red carpet for the premiere of her film Labor Day looking absolutely radiant in a black floor-length gown by Jenny Packham. The bespoke dress featured a deep V-neckline and an empire waist with a Swarovski embellishment at the centre—a perfect showcase for a growing tummy. Winslet chose to keep her accessories at a minimum with a metallic box clutch, forest green pointed-toe heels and subtle silver and diamond jewellery. With a healthy, natural glow of an expecting mother-to-be, a no-fuss chignon with side-swept bangs and coral pink lips finished off her graceful red carpet look.

TIFF 2013: Scarlett Johansson signs autographs while Joseph Gordon-Levitt runs laps around the Don Jon red carpet
See the Don Jon red carpet images »
Running or walking, Joseph Gordon Levitt is hot. At the TIFF 2013 premiere of his directorial debut Don Jon, the multi-talented actor did a speedy lap to greet fans before entering the Princess of Wales Theatre for the screening. And while he may not have arrived on time, he certainly did so in style, wearing a slim pinstripe suit with and accenting plaid tie. Whatta guy.
