Erin Kleinberg Fall 2014: The Coveteur co-founder goes back to her designer roots
Photography by Jenna Marie Wakani See the complete Erin Kleinberg Fall 2014 collection »
A week after Toronto Fashion Week, one of the city’s fashion stars made her return to the runway after a three-year hiatus. In case you need a refresh, The Coveteur co-founder Erin Kleinberg used to be a designer. Back in the mid-oughts, she became a bright young thing when stars like Mischa Barton, Blake Lively and Kim Kardashian were spotted in her low-key wares. For the next few years, she sold worldwide at Holt Renfrew, Barney’s, Nordstrom and others until putting the collection on hold to dominate the industry in another way: creeping the designer-filled closets of fashion’s elite.

Get rewarded for going to the spa with Dermalogica’s new Little Grey Pass program
If finding the perfect skin care routine is on your 2014 to-do list, listen up! Dermalogica has just announced a new program that will get your skin in fine form and reward you for going to the spa more frequently.
Open to residents in Vancouver and Toronto, the Little Grey Pass works somewhat like an actual passport. Every time you visit one of Dermalogica’s certified skin centres for a 60-minute skin treatment, you get a stamp. Once you’ve visited four different spas, you can redeem your pass for a bottle of Dermalogica’s PreCleanse, a cult favourite of the brand. If you make it to six different spas, you’ll also get a travel-sized Daily Microfoliant. Being rewarded for pampering your skin—what more could a beauty buff ask for?

Street Style, Toronto: How the city’s snappiest dressers brave the coldest winter in years
Photography by Jenna Marie Wakani See the street style from Toronto »
While the fashion flock takes a rest during a rare lull between Fall 2014 shows, we fix our eyes back on home turf. In this batch of shots from the city’s downtown core, photographer Jenna Marie Wakani captures Toronto’s most stylish braving the worst winter on record in bundled up layers.
We spot Olympic-worthy accents on traditional black staples like pea coats and parkas as well as geometric prints. Unconventional outerwear is evident in a chic mustard wrap and a purple cinched waistcoat sported by two daring street goers. And even without fashion week, Chanel proves the accessory of choice for one shopper snapped wearing a Boy chain shoulder bag on Bloor Street.

Inside Purple Party 2013: 29 photos of purple-clad partygoers raising funds for childhood cancer
Photography by George Pimentel Photography See all the photos from the Purple Party 2013 »
Remember that heart-swelling Buzzfeed post “21 Pictures That Will Restore Your Faith in Humanity”? Well, last Thursday was officially the IRL version, as Childhood Cancer Canada hosted its second annual Purple Party. The sold-out event filled Toronto’s Drake Hotel, with purple-clad partygoers, notable guests and, most importantly, inspirational childhood cancer heroes.
At the centre of it all was the Purple Party’s duo co-chairs—who, coincidentally, represented two mainstays of Canadian culture. Murdoch Mysteries star Yannick Bisson and wife Shantelle and former NHL player Brad May and wife Brigette kept the party going strong all night long, as well as spurring on a very competitive live auction.

Dress for Success Toronto: 15 party photos from inside the 3rd annual charity event and fashion show
Photography by Jeff Turner See the Dress for Success party photos »
Last week, Dress for Success Toronto held it’s 3rd annual Heel of a Good Time fashion fundraiser. The event brought a full house of the city’s do-gooders to raise money for the organization to continue to help disadvantaged women gain economic independence. The gala, held at ultra swanky The Fifth Social Club, was a mix of on-going auctions, a fashion show and a celebration of long time advocate Jeanne Beker for her contribution to the cause.
With never-ending cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a bubble machine adding to the ambiance, a crowd of mostly women meandered through displays of goodies for the silent auction. After a tribute video of Beker’s fashion career, presentation of an award and a few words from her, a fashion show followed. Wares from her own line Edit by Jeanne Beker were on models that zigzagged through the packed house giving the crowd a chance to have a closer look. The night ended with a live auction of high value packages ranging from a private Calvin Klein shopping event for 5 to custom diamond jewellery created by !Xam’s expert designers.

Nike brings its NTC app to life: 4 trainers share their favourite workouts (Plus, free fitness classes in Toronto!)
Photography courtesy Nike If you’re like me, sometimes the hardest part of going to the gym (besides actually going to the gym) is figuring out what to do once I get there. But now, thanks to Nike, that “what to do at the gym?” guesswork is no more. The sportswear juggernaut recently launched the Nike Training Club (NTC) app and with over 115 workouts and 120 drills available, it’s basically like having a peppy personal trainer in your pocket.

A day at the spa from just $30? Toronto’s annual Beautylicious event makes it possible
While we hardly require a reason to spend an afternoon relaxing at the spa, Toronto’s Beautylicious makes it easier than ever to justify. The annual spa event is in its fifth year right now, so drop whatever you’re doing and book an appointment (or two… or three…). Think of it as a prix fixe for […]

Must-have fall fragrances: The new additions making it to our top shelf this season
We’ve said our farewells to summer, and now doing our hellos for the fall. The weather is getting cooler but you can turn up the heat with some hot fragrances. Not only do these scents smell fantastic but they’re also newly released! Read: bragging rights.
Clean scents with warmth are welcomed. They should be assertive but not assault our nostrils. A lingering finish with some delicate floral notes is the perfect balance in helping us carry some sunshine into the chillier days.
We recommend three fragrances that will help put a spring in your step even when you’re deep in chunky knits and cable sweaters.

Nuit Blanche 2013: 30 stylish shots of Toronto’s one-night art party
Photography by Becca Lemire See our shots from Nuit Blanche 2013 »
Toronto’s art lovers came out in droves for Nuit Blanche, the annual sunset to sunrise art fest, which takes over the downtown core each October. With some of the some of the warmest Nuit Blanche weather in memory, all 110 contemporary art displays were stacked with well-dressed merrymakers ready to break out the contraband tallboys.
The exhibits ranged from a poem written in fluorescent lights to over 1000 second hand pieces of furniture sculpted into a tower lit by luminescent bulbs. Drambuie liquor set up shop at the Stephen Bulgar gallery, delivering guests to and fro in a British cab decorated in zigzag stripes. The most talked about exhibit of the night was “Forever Bicycles” by artist Ai Wei Wei, which featured 3,144 bicycles in a maze-like monument located at Nathan Phillip Square.
Sartorially, the common thread between the art lovers was comfort, warmth and some imaginative flair. Chunky knits, sweatshirts and leather and denim jackets provided warmth while sneakers and flat to mid-heeled boots provided comfort for the citywide trek. A contemporary art festival is incomplete without a thought-provoking one-liner inked on a sartorial piece as seen on the back of one attendee’s jacket.

Inside the second annual Diner en Blanc in Toronto: 40 photos of from last night’s beautiful all-white dinner party
Photography by Kayla Rocca See the Diner en Blanc photos »
Last night, 1,600 well-dressed Torontonians set up shop in an east end parking lot for the city’s second annual Diner en Blanc. Dreamed up in Paris 25 years ago, the all-white dinner party concept was a major success last year when it launched in the city last summer and participants were eager for a take two. In attempts to avoid last year’s soggy, muddy field when the skies unleashed a torrential downpour on guests set up at Fort York, the event’s organizers opted for a parking lot, which left much to be desired in the way of atmosphere amongst the guests. From these pictures though, the event looked quite beautiful—from the many feathered headdresses and shawls to the bejewelled collar-adornments worn by many males guests.

Toronto Street Style: 30 photos of stylish CNE attendees spotted amidst colourful rides and cotton candy stands
See the Toronto street style photos from the CNE »
The end of summer is the worst. But the CNE (aka. the Canadian National Exhibition, also known fondly as The Ex) is the best! Every year, Torontonians and their nearby neighbours flock to the CNE to enjoy the terror of rickety rollercoasters, disgusting eating (see the cronut burger) and money pit midway games. Why? Cause it’s tradition!
This past weekend, photographer Jenna Marie Wakani hit The Ex in search of stylish attendees and lucky for us, there were plenty. Amidst the furries, carnies and credit card pushers, we spotted many cute guys and gals sporting many summer trends. As usual, denim made many appearances, our favourite of which was on this handy lady, who sports an expertly slashed pair of baggy bootcuts. Another of our favourites was this cute couple, whose impressive hairdos were only matched by cheek-to-cheek grins.

Toronto Street Style: 25 beautiful photos of stylish people posing with stylish bikes
Photography by David Pike See the best of Toronto’s bike fashion »
For as prohibitive as it has become to ride in the city centre, lord knows Torontonians love their bikes. By day and by night, the city’s most mobile use their sometimes stylish, ofttimes ragged two-wheelers to get where they need to go. Bike-ready fashion is somewhat of an art form (heck, we even provided a how-to!), with comfort, flexibility and stylishness all playing a role in the equation. To pull that all off simultaneously is impressive, so we sent photographer David Pike out to capture those who do it best. Amidst the ladies and gents photographed in this batch of Toronto street style, a few bike-worthy signatures seemed staple: jean shorts, backpacks and thick soled shoes. There were a few mini skirts as well, but we’ll sleep more soundly to assume that bike shorts were worn underneath. So without further ado, peruse Toronto’s bike fashion at its finest!
