Tyra Banks will reprise her role as a lifesize…doll
It has been almost 13 long years since we were blessed with the original Life Size movie, and today, Tyra Banks has announced on her Twitter that she’ll be returning for a sequel. Tyra is coming back to take her place as Eve—the doll turned human—and will also be the producer of the next installment of the movie which will air on the Disney Channel.
In case your memories of Life Size are blurry, here’s a refresher course: the original starred Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks and was a made for TV movie. Tyra Banks started as Lindsay Lohan’s toy doll and magically turned into a real life size human (get it?). Tyra Banks obviously fell in love with Lindsay Lohan’s faux TV dad, sang a song about shining bright like a star, and they all lived happily ever after.

Tyra Banks and Rachel Zoe both have scripted shows coming out. Who would you rather watch?
Rachel Zoe and Tyra Banks are off on another television venture and now, they want scripts instead of reality. Both Zoe and Banks have signed on to have comedies scripted about their lives (in addition to their current TV shows) for NBC and ABC, respectively.
Tyra Banks (the model/author/producer/talkshow host/expert smizer) will be creating a show about her forehead and her awkward teenage years titled Fivehead. What’s a fivehead? You must have not watched The Tyra Show but let Tyra explain, “In high school, if you have glasses, you’re a ‘four eyes’, if you have braces, you’re a ‘metal mouth’ but if you had my forehead? You’re a FIVEHEAD.” Of course!

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 Street Style: We spot Tyra Banks, Jessica Alba, Bart Simpson (prints) and Bill Cunningham petting adorable bulldogs!
View the New York Fashion Week street style photos »
The street style in and around the last two days of New York Fashion Week’s Spring 2013 shows were a frenzy of varsity jackets (Opening Ceremony), motorcycle jackets (Acne) see-through bags (from Kenzo to Claire’s) and Asian-inspired printed silks (Proenza Schouler, obv) jealousy-inducing heels (and even a few flats) as shot by our street style photographer Stefania Yarhi. Amidst the madness, Bill Cunningham was playing with some adorable bulldogs. You better bet we caught that too.

Look me in my smize: Tyra Banks stars in P’Trique’s latest #totesamaze video
P’Trique was understandably a bit miffed when Tyra Banks had glossed over him for the revamped return of America’s Next Top Model, but thanks to a little campaigning and a lot of tooching, P’Trique’s dreams of appearing on ANTM’s 19th season have come true.
To commemorate the new #totesamaze partnership, Banks (or “Ty,” as P’Trique calls her) teamed up with everyone’s favourite bearded fashionista for a little teaser video. While Banks’ acting skills are questionable to say the least (does the made-for-TV treasure Life-Size refresh your memories at all?), the clip is full of P’Trique one-liners, including a tender moment between the two at the end: “Look me in my smize….you are perfect.”

Quotable: Tyra Banks doesn’t want to be idolized
Tyra Banks’ latest venture in her crusade of female empowerment is just nearing completion. The name is a bit questionable (the Tyra Banks TZONE at the Lower East Side Girls Club… and breathe), but Banks hopes the leadership centre, which is almost done construction, will become a consistent hangout for local girls. She even plans on doing her work in the space to set an example.
“What I don’t want to be is Tyra, the ‘celebrity girl,’ coming here and the girls being excited when they see me. I want them to be numb to me. I can do normal work here and they can see me, to know that this is what a business is. It’s not about living on a red carpet. I am a businesswoman who goes to work every single day.”

Janice Dickinson and Cindy Crawford have some not-so-positive opinions about Vogue’s new healthy model initiative
This should come as no surprise, but Janice Dickinson isn’t impressed and she’s not afraid to say it.
This time, Dickinson is mouthing off about Vogue’s new international Health Initiative. The initiative brought together all 19 of the magazine’s international editors, who co-signed a pact stating that they would not use models who appear to suffer from eating disorders or who are under the age of 16.
Dickinson, however, isn’t buying it.

It’s official: BryanBoy is joining America’s Next Top Model!
After weeks of speculation, Bryanboy is indeed joining the cast of America’s Next Top Model. WWD reported today that sources close to the blogger have confirmed he will be joining the revamped ANTM lineup alongside model Rob Evans, publicist Kelly Cutrone (who’s already got one season under her belt) and celebrity stylist Johnny Wujek, who […]

They said/We said: In one fell swoop, ANTM says goodbye to J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker
Longtime America’s Next Top Model cast members J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker were handed some Tyra mail yesterday, but not the kind that’ll whisk them off to a thrilling international locale. Rather, the runway coach, mentor and photographer (sorry, noted fashion photographer!) were given the axe: their contracts will not be renewed for season 19.

Tyra Banks is apparently modeling again and we’ve got video proof!
Remember when Tyra Banks used to be a model? It’s been so long since we’ve seen the TV host/expert smizer actually doing what she became famous for, that we were pretty shocked to see her back in the swing, starring in the Nowness video of the day, entitled Strike the Pose. Filmed by photographer Marcus […]

They said/We said: Kelly Cutrone will replace Andre Teon Talley on America’s Next Top Model. Cue the waterworks!
Looks like Tyra’s gaining another female perspective. It was announced this morning that Kelly Cutrone will replace Andre Leon Talley as the fourth America’s Next Top Model judge next season. Known for her intense attitude (and that’s putting it mildly) on The Hills and The City, the founder of now-famed PR firm People’s Revolution will no doubt up the drama ante on the panel.
As for the rumours that a tiff with Banks is the reason for Talley’s departure, he dismissed them, telling Page Six “It’s all good in the neighborhood.” (Oh, okay.) Although we’re sad to see Talley’s high-fashion credibility go, Cutrone’s blunt and quote-worthy advice is sure to bring some entertaining moments. Cue the waterworks.

SNP’s word of the day: Modelland
Word: Modelland
Usage: “Suddenly, Scouts from Modelland were everywhere. An asteroid rocketed to earth, throwing up chunks of marble all around the square and causing nearby runway walkers to flee in hysterics. A stunning Scout emerged from the rubble, with skin that seemed to be made of rough stone.”

They said/We said: A tale of two fashion personalities: The scoop on Tyra’s and Tavi’s adventures in writing
Other than fashion, what do 15-year-old blogger Tavi Gevinson and Tyra Banks have in common? They’re both set to release books in the near future. While book launches are nothing new to the fashion world, the typical material is usually limited to collections of glossy photos or instructive style guides. You may (or may not) be shocked to find out that this isn’t the case with either Tavi’s or Tyra’s upcoming ventures.
