H&M’s Concious Collection Exclusive: The brand’s latest formalwear collection does affordable luxury so right
See the H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection here »
Just in time for prom and wedding season, H&M has launched a new line of spring eveningwear that hits stores today. The line, titled “Conscious Exclusive,” is part of H&M’s hugely successful Conscious Collection. It includes a variety of partywear and accessories that promises to bring a touch of Hollywood glamour to the fast fashion chain.
Like the rest of H&M’s Conscious Collection, the Conscious Exclusive line is made from sustainable material such as recycled polyester and organic cotton. According to H&M’s head of design Ann-Sofie Johansson, the inspiration behind the collection came from thinking about glamour and style in an environmentally conscious way. “For us at H&M, it’s natural to think about sustainability, and to have it at the heart of our work,” Johansson explained.

The fashionable way to reduce, reuse, recycle: Introducing H&M’s new garment collecting initiative
With every solid closet clean out, when the never-worn clothing gets separated from the over-worn, there’s always the question of what to do with pieces after they have been pulled off the hangers and out of the drawers. Donate, throw away or give to friends?
Now, H&M is offering the solution to this on-going problem and providing shoppers with the opportunity to return used clothing in any state—tattered, barely worn, and from any brand—to select stores so they can be reused, recycled, or donated to be re-worn.

H&M’s Conscious Collection kicks eco fashion into glam high gear. See all the looks now!
There’s been a serious push towards sustainable fashion of late and with good reason. Gorgeous wears that are kind to the environment? That’s like double the reason to go shopping!
Now, longtime environmental advocate H&M (they’ve been the world’s largest buyer of organic cotton since 2010) is taking its environmental quest one step further with the Conscious Collection. The new knockout sustainable fashion line of everything from shorts to blouses to cocktail dresses and gowns (gowns!) is made from a whole slew of earth-conscious fabrics, including chemical-free organic cotton, a totally renewable cellulose-silk called Tencel and recycled polyester made from PET plastic bottles.
The tea-with-the-Queen-worthy collection is chock-full of sugary sweet pastels, romantic florals and the nipped-in waists we saw all over the Spring 2012 runways. These ultra-flattering dresses are perfect for the summer wedding, the prom or even the classic night out on the town. And though it might be a bit of a bold choice for a wedding dress, one particular off-white gown with a decadent tiered skirt has us in a decidedly matrimonial kind of mood. Still need another stamp of approval? Actress/goddess Michelle Williams wore one of the Conscious gowns to the BAFTA Awards earlier this year. Can we get an amen?
