Would you actually wear Jeremy Scott’s first collection for Moschino?
Jeremy Scott made his much-anticipated debut for Moschino yesterday during Milan Fashion Week and it was just as cheeky as expected. Bookending a perfectly trendy ode to classic Moschino (the brand’s iconic logo belts were re-imagined on boots, skirts and crop bustiers), Scott served up faux-McDonalds uniforms, a Froot Loop peplum, SpongeBob SquarePants crop tops, a Hershey’s chocolate bar dress and a bridal gown made of an enlarged nutrition label.
Scott has built an empire on low culture Warholification, as evidenced by the stacked front row including Katy Perry and Rita Ora. And while we’re sure the dresses will end up in the rotation for pop stars, we have a hard time seeing them IRL on anyone other than Anna Dello Russo (she’s already paraded her favourite look on Instagram, obvi).

Grammys 2014: The 7 best dressed on the red carpet
See the Grammys 2014 Red Carpet »
Last night, music’s reigning royal couple, Beyoncé and Jay Z, continued to win at life, opening Grammys 2014 with one hella sexy lovefest courtesy of Bey’s new single, “Drunk in Love.” Aside from their amazing performance and some collaborations from our wildest dreams—hello Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk and Stevie Wonder!—there were some very unusual outfits. From country songstress Kacey Musgraves’ light up cowboy boots to Cyndi Lauper’s caped get up, fashion critics were split on most of the outfits from the night.
Taking a cue from Diane Keaton’s stylish tuxedo at the recent Golden Globes, Madonna went androgynous in a Ralph Lauren double-breasted tux, accessorizing with a sparkly glove, gold grills, and her son David who walked the carpet by her side. Katy Perry showed some love for Valentino, rocking a couture white tulle confection with staffs of sheet music splashed across the skirt. Some thought it verged on tacky, but we give her mad props for embodying the night’s theme so fully.
Both Ciara and Alicia Keys showed how to make the most of curves. Ciara showed off her baby bump in a fitted Emilio Pucci dress, keeping her hair and make up perfectly low key, as to not overwhelm the sequined get up. Similarly, Alicia Keys, kept her coiffed hair and make up simple, and let her cobalt blue Armani Privé halter gown take centre stage. The plunging neckline might be too much for some, but Alicia pulls off the bold look effortlessly.

AMAs 2013: Our top 5 picks for best dressed on the red carpet

The biggest stars in music took over Los Angeles last night for the annual American Music Awards. From Miley Cyrus’s tongue-wagging kitty to Lady Gaga’s red carpet arrival on a white two-manned faux horse, the show was nothing short of spectacular.
On the red carpet, Miley Cyrus (sans bleached eyebrows) was surprisingly modest in a white Versus white pantsuit with black Saint Laurent pumps. Once inside though, it didn’t take long for the singer to return to her signature rebellious ways when she rocked a cat print crop top and high-waisted bikini bottom by Brit designer Markus Lupfer during her performance. In other attention grabbing sartorial choices, Lady Gaga, the newly appointed face of Versace, wore a lavender dress from the brand’s Spring 2014 collection. In eerily brilliant branding, she appeared the doppelganger of Donatella herself.

Roar! Katy Perry is the newest face of Cover Girl
While Miley’s been dominating magazine covers and Britney’s locking down Vegas, Katy Perry is supporting the launch of her forthcoming album with a beauty contract. And not just any beauty contract: Katy Perry is the newest Cover Girl.
News broke this morning on Perry’s Twitter, when she shared the first of many campaign images. “In addition to music, I’ve always considered makeup to be a powerful creative avenue of self-expression for me. I’m honoured to partner with Cover Girl and share more colours and textures of my approach to beauty to inspire my audience,” she said, via press release.
The Cover Girl ad seems to confirm that Perry has officially softened her theatrical approach to beauty—a transition that’s been in the works since she started promoting Prism. Her skin is fresh, glowing and save for the berry-stained lip and shimmering metallic nail polish, Perry’s mastered the no-makeup makeup look.

Katy Perry vs. Olivia Wilde vs. Coca Rocha: Who wore the Emanuel Ungaro leopard-print dress best?

It’s the battle of the fashionable felines and the competition is fierce. Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards saw a solid mix of fashion hits and misses on the red carpet. And though it was hard to focus on anything other than Miley’s mini buns/butt, something about Katy Perry’s dress was giving us serious déjà vu. We soon realized that we’d seen her leopard-print Emanuel Ungaro look not once, but twice before. The gown was worn by Canadian model Coco Rocha at this year’s Met Gala, and more recently by our cover girl Olivia Wilde in FASHION’s September issue. Quelle scandal!
Rocha wore a floor-length version of the dress (that only a supermodel could pull off) to May’s annual Met Gala in New York. The thigh-high slit was refreshing, considering the gown’s high neck and long sleeves. The model completed the look with ankle boots and blunt bangs. Rocha had fun with her makeup opting for seriously dramatic eyes and bright pink cheeks. At the VMAs, Perry, who undoubtedly chose the print in celebration of her insta-hit “Roar,” paired the seriously embellished curve-hugging gown with black and gold sandals by Céline. Unlike Rocha, the singer let the dress do the talking (or the meowing) with minimal makeup and a high ponytail.

MTV VMAs 2013: Miley! Gaga! Selena! Our top 6 best dressed picks from the red carpet
See the MTV VMAs 2013 red carpet photos »
Ah, the MTV VMAs! If there’s one award show that calls for stars to go all out in clever costumery, it’s the VMAs. This is, after all, the event that Gwen Stefani wore a blue fun fur bikini to and where Lil’ Kim made pasties a trending topic before Twitter even existed. Basically, the rule is that you have to become a spectacle at the VMAs if you want to stand out.
Rising to the top of the VMAs 2013 best dressed challenge was, of course, Miley Cyrus. Just a day earlier she had released the ’90s-worthy cover art for her next album, Bangerz, which will certainly be the final step in the campaign to completely forget her Disney upbringing. On the VMA red carpet, Miley opted to keep it skin-tight in a crop top and leggings courtesy Dolce & Gabbana. The bejewelled pieces were vintage and had a slight Carmen Miranda vibe—though any ladylike pretensions were washed away with Miley’s playful (and persistent) tongue wagging. Of course, her red carpet outfit has nothing on what was worn during the actual show. Fun fur forever!

Katy Perry vs. Rachel Bilson: Who wore cobalt blue best on the red carpet?
See the cobalt blue looks up close »
While summer cocktails keep us cool on the almost dog days of summer, cobalt blue trend is doing the same on the red carpet. The intoxicating shade has become quite a favourite this year, with Reese Witherspoon, Taylor Swift and Jessica Chastain counted amongst its A-list fans.
Conveniently for Katy Perry, cobalt blue also happens to be the favourite shade of The Smurfs, whose second animated film Smurfs 2 co-stars the singer herself. To promote the film, Perry’s been wearing nothing but the shade, which we think is pretty awesome. Dressed in head-toe-blue at the Los Angeles premiere over the weekend, Perry wore a dress by Tadashi Shoji from the Fall 2013 collection. With floral appliques on the bodice, the sleeveless dress also features a small bow belt and leather pleated skirt that falls past the knees. Matching her outfit, the songstress adds a pair of blue heels with a black bow accent by Pedro Garcia and sapphire crystal earrings by Swarovski. She finished off her look with pink lips, a matching pink manicure and with her hair styled in classic sixties waves.

Katy Perry’s new Killer Queen fragrance skips the bubble gum pop for a more sophisticated style
From the floral headdress Katy Perry wore to The Great Gatsby NYC premiere to the embellished crown she paired with her Dolce and Gabbana frock at this year’s Met Gala, the Queen of pop clearly has a penchant for regal accessories. Perched atop a golden throne, Perry flaunted her latest royalty-approved ensemble, a Thom Browne ball gown and crown-clad nails, at the recent launch of her newest fragrance Killer Queen.
Due out in August, Killer Queen marks Perry’s third venture into the world of fragrances, and one that seems to be a complete departure from her cutesy aesthetic.

It’s common knowledge that Rihanna doesn’t wake up looking the way she does when she hits the red carpet. From hairstylists to makeup artists, an entourage is key to getting our favourite Barbadian songstress camera-ready. But have you ever wondered who does her nails? (The megastar is credited with setting the pointy nail trend, after all!) Well, the talent behind the look is L.A.-based nail guru Kimmie Kyees.
Kyees, whose Instagram is flooded with images of Ke$ha, Nicole Richie and Kim Kardashian (you know, the usual), has a list of celebrity clients as long as Rihanna’s pointed talons.

Met Gala 2013: The 25 best dressed on fashion’s most important red carpet
See the Met Gala 2013 red carpet photos »
The build up to this year’s Met Gala has been major. Designers, celebrities and the fashion elite have been scrambling to piece together a look that fits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s theme, PUNK: Chaos to Couture and while admittedly, the punk-inspired looks were few and far between, we were certainly thrilled with a few.
Channeling her own recent V Magazine cover, Miley Cyrus went latter day Debbie Harry with platinum blonde spikes and a long fishnet Marc Jacobs dress. Anne Hathaway debuted a similarly bleached bob alongside her date and dresser for the night, Valentino Garavani, sending the twittersphere in a tizzy.
Co-chairs of the event Riccardo Tisci and Rooney Mara went punk-light with Mara in a beautifully detailed white lace Givenchy dress and a pop of crimson on the lips.
Also wearing Givenchy was none other than Beyoncé—the honourary chairperson for this year’s event. Pairing her custom-designed strapless black and gold printed gown with blinged out boots in the same shade, Queen Bey proved for her second year in a row that last on the red carpet is always best.
After finally receiving the Anna Wintour nod of approval, Kim Kardashian made an appearance at the Met Gala 2013 in a floral-print Givenchy dress with baby-daddy, Kanye West at her side.
Someone who is more known for consistently nailing red carpet looks than Kimye, is Emma Watson and she hit a high note yet again in a skin-bearing Prabal Gurung dress with a single silver drop earring hanging from her left ear.
And while Kristen Stewart has held fast to her role as the face of Balenciaga’s Florabotanica, she strayed from the house’s new wears, opting instead, for a crimson Stella McCartney pantsuit.
So who was the best dressed at the Met Gala 2013? Vote in our poll!

Coco Rocha vs. Katy Perry: Who’s flower-filled hairstyle looks the best?
Floral headdresses may seem like the number one accessory for a music festival but two stylish A-listers have taken the look to the red carpet. Coco Rocha and Katy Perry wore flowers in their hair over the weekend, to the Kentucky Derby and The Great Gatsby NYC premiere, respectively. While the hairstyles were different—Perry opted to weave flowers into a halo braid while Rocha used orchids to complement her Derby hat—the colours were very similar, with both women wearing lavender, mauve and vibrant-purple blooms.
Considering that the hats get just as competitive as the horses at the Kentucky Derby, Coco Rocha’s take on the may-as-well-be-mandatory style is extremely elegant. The Phillip Treacy hat is balanced with a low chignon bun to one side and vibrant orchids on the other. Couldn’t you picture Kate Middleton in this hat, hairstyle and orchid combination? (Come to think of it, Kate would also be into the Zac Posen jacket and skirt that Rocha’s wearing.) Of course, the best part of this look has to be Coco Rocha’s lipstick—it matches both the flowers and the lining on her jacket and suits her red hair. We’re still waiting for confirmation on the colour, but it looks very much like Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids in “Pink Pop” so get thee to the drugstore if you want to duplicate this look.
