Fashion news: Polaroid goes gaga for Gaga, a new prez at Holt Renfrew and Louise Goldin does spiky shoes for Topshop
Matthew Williamson will launch a men’s capsule collection next month. The line, which features tees, cashmere sweaters and silk scarves in the UK designer’s signature prints and vivid colours, will expand to a seasonal collection. [Vogue UK]
Lady Gaga has been named creative director of a specialty line for Polaroid. You may be scratching your head as to why, but just think about the innovation: a camera that adjusts for those wearing an eye patch, or, as our Halifax blogger Nadine suggested, one “that only works when you happen to have forgotten to put on your pants.” [Racked]
Oh, but Jason Wu is also going to be designing cameras, so maybe this is going to turn into a thing. The designer will launch a line of digital point-and-shoots at New York Fashion Week next month. [Styleist]

Video: Matthew Williamson’s return to London Fashion Week
Matthew Williamson’s Spring 2010 collection contained barely a hint of the flowy boho that made him famous. The parade of skinny pants, sharp chartreuse jackets and body-con dresses in arty prints and wild colours–that much hasn’t changed–was harder and more structured than previous efforts. Williamson also seemed thrilled to be showing at home–that way, he says, his parents can make it to the show. Video after the jump. -

New York: Matthew Williamson, Rodarte, Derek Lam, Diesel, Max Azria and Narciso Rodriguez Fall 2009
Theme for the day: Running in heels. And no, I am not speaking of Marie Claire‘s highly anticipated new reality show, but rather my crazy day. My late-night Walgreens run for gel foot cushions will have been worth it.
Up first was Matthew Williamson where front-rowers included Rachel Zoe, Monet Mazur, Joy Bryant (who is quickly becoming the female Kanye West of Fashion Week by showing up to absolutely everything). Oh, and I can’t forget Eva Longoria Parker looking petite but packing some major bling power.
