Street Style, New York: 33 photos featuring Doutzen Kroes, Carine Roitfeld, Michelle Harper and some new faces to watch outside the Fall 2013 shows
See 33 street style photos from New York Fashion Week »
Fashion’s fixations were back for another day of street style action outside Fall 2013’s edition New York Fashion Week, and while the usual suspects were out in full force to see big name collections including 3.1 Phillip Lim, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Donna Karan, there are quite a few new darlings that are catching our eye.
Case in point: Our new favourite gal, Shine by Three blogger Margaret Zhang who looked ripe for the ‘80s-era Wall Street picking in grey suited layers. Obviously a fan of plaid, we photographed her wearing the same pattern in Friday’s street style batch alongside a few more layers of grungy goodness. Watch that face. Another new beauty, Natasha Goldenberg, whose matador-meets-Frida Kahlo-meets-Dries Van Noten look had us all abuzz. Save for the cell phone, she looks like a snapshot of another time we’d really like travel to.

Coco Rocha vs. Shay Mitchell: Who wore brights best at the Diane Von Furstenberg show?
See the Diane Von Furstenberg looks up up-close »
Forget the runway, everyone knows there’s a whole other fashion show going down on its sidelines. At Diane Von Furstenberg’s Fall 2013 show during New York Fashion Week, we spotted two pretty little Canucks sporting two pretty little pairs of pants in dueling Valentine’s Day hues.
Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell wore DVF’s bright pink Naples tuxedo pant and paired it with very classic pieces allowing that power piece to shine: a relaxed black blazer, black blouse and black Christian Louboutin pumps. Mitchell complemented the pant with a pink pout perfectly highlighting the bright shade.

New York Fashion Week: 5 coats to covet for Fall 2013
See 5 coats to covet for Fall 2013 » Sitting in mixed media designer Karim Rashid’s Technicolour boardroom on a grey, drizzly morning is the fashion equivalent of a doppio espresso. The floor is swirled with a kaleidoscope of colours; the shelves are filled with his designs–most of them cartoon-y bright. Next to Mr. Rashid, […]

New York Fashion Week: 5 colour trends to watch for come Fall 2013
See our top 5 colours for New York Fashion Week Fall 2013 » Winter whiteouts wreaked havoc on highways (and hair) over the last couple of days but they didn’t blow onto the runways at New York Fashion Week Fall 2013. From the neon green topper I spied in the crowd at Diane Von Furstenberg […]

Street Style, New York: 56 photos featuring Man Repeller, Miroslava Duma, ASAP Rocky, Taylor Tomasi Hill and more outside Fall 2013 fashion week

Storm? What storm? If these street style photos from the last few days at New York Fashion week were any indication, Snowmageddon was but a blip on the Fall 2013 show season radar. Despite a record-breaking snowfall (ahem, have you seen the Long Island Expressway?), the fashion flock was rearing to go.
Whereas fur is typically the go to for cold weather fashion weeks (and was worn well by Joanna Hillman and Shala Monroque), it seemed there was a new motto this weekend: tailoring. Peacoats, riding coats, double-breasted wool coats and raincoats were largely favoured this weekend, with everyone from Miroslava Duma to Taylor Tomasi Hill diving in. Outside Friday and Saturday’s shows, Man Repeller Leandra Medine showcased two very different layered looks—a way oversized peacoat layered over jeans, a baggy blue jean button down and heeled white loafers on Friday, and a worn out motorcycle jacket overtop a loose flannel shirt, light boyfriend jeans and black suede booties on Saturday—both worn avec toques with enviable flops.

Blush Hour: We rethink pink with our Winter Issue photo shoot inspired by one of the season’s most unexpected trends
View the Blush Hour photo shoot »
See this trend within our Fall/Winter 2012 trends guide »It’s time to rethink pink. No longer just a little girl hue, pastel pink has become one of Fall/Winter 2012’s most important and unexpected trends. Best done by Raf Simons with his farewell collection for Jil Sander, the shade has been popping up everywhere, from the red carpet to the front cover of our current issue starring Coco Rocha. In this photo shoot from our Winter Issue, we take pink for a ride on model Madelen de la Motte with mannish coats, sculpted leathers and more. Looks like fashion’s most innocent pastel shade has adopted a grown-up attitude.

Pink is bringing her edgy aesthetic to Cover Girl as their newest spokesperson
It looks like pink hair is the new normal for drugstore beauty brands. First it was Maybelline with model Charlotte Free and now Cover Girl has named feisty, candy-floss-haired singer Pink as their newest spokesperson. The singer will certainly give the all-American brand a bit of edginess too, joining ranks with a diverse set of spokesmodels including Taylor Swift, Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore and Canadian Olympian Mary Spencer.
