Lululemon Brings Fanny Packs and Bucket Hats to the Team Canada Olympic Uniforms
Let’s be clear — these are not your grandmother’s Olympic uniforms. They are Gen Z’s. As the Olympians-turned-models emerged onto the runway at the Lululemon Team Canada launch event on October 26, it immediately became apparent that the athleisure brand was taking its role as Olympic uniform provider quite seriously. Gone are the days of […]

ICYMI: The best Team Canada photos from the first week at Rio 2016
The lead up to Rio 2016 might have been shaky, with Zika and contaminated water concerns taking precedence over the actual sporting events. And while these issues still exist, the Olympic fever is palpable through our screens—pride, excitement and plain old love is what it’s all about. It’s no secret that our Canadian women are […]

Penny Oleksiak: The 16-year-old just won Canada’s first gold medal at Rio 2016
ICYMI, Penny Oleksiak, who is only 16 and hails from Toronto, took home Canada’s first gold medal last night in the 100-metre freestyle—and she couldn’t have been more charming when she turned around to see the results, almost gulping down a mouthful of pool water when she realized it. Street Style, New York: 50 photos of colourful fur, Team Canada mittens and statement coats at the Fall 2014 shows
It’s been almost a full week of New York Fashion Week Fall 2014 shows and we were beginning to wonder if the fashion elite had any tricks left up their sleeves when it came to cold weather dressing. There are only so many ways you can stay warm and stylish, right? Nope! Today’s batch of street style photos from photographer Stefania Yarhi take outwear to new heights with mixes of colourful fur, dashes of metallic sheen and noteworthy footwear.
Preetma Singh, Eva Chen and several other fashion go-ers showed off panelled fur vests and jackets, all picking up on the colour-blocking trend while staying warm in the process. Warming our hearts, on the other hand, was the abundance of Hudson’s Bay Team Canada mittens spotted on the streets of New York—Olympic spirit is always in style! Alexa Chung looked positively Bowie-esque in a futuristic iridescent coat—while simultaneously keeping it ladylike with a prim purse. Ece Sükan went for an ’80s throwback vibe, mixing a cinched mod leather jacket with a bold gold skirt peeking out from underneath.

Olympics countdown: Hudson’s Bay releases Team Canada Sochi 2014 uniforms and collection

Remember when Roots was responsible for much of the world’s Olympic clothes? This beret? Well, it seems as if some Canadian greatness is still rubbing off on Team USA, with its just-released Sochi 2014 uniforms. Designed by Ralph Lauren (and fully produced on American soil to put an end to last year’s controversy), the closing ceremony jacket, for one, looks quite the ever-iconic Bay stripe featured similarly on this year’s Team Canada wares. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…

A closer look at what Team Canada’s wearing to the podium during the 2012 Olympics
Now that Team Canada has scored a bronze medal in synchronized diving, it’s time we had a closer look at what our Olympians wore (and will hopefully be wearing many more times) while accepting their medal on the podium. The red-on-red (ain’t much of a surprise there!) tracksuit is a classic nod to to the […]

Here’s a peek at what Team Canada will be wearing to the Olympic opening ceremonies tonight!
Looks like Team Canada will be keeping it pretty cool and casual at tonight’s (today’s in time warp terms?) opening ceremonies in London. The Bay has just released a sketch of the official uniforms which features red and white colour blocked “Canada” zipped sweater over white button downs—the women’s, with traditional plaid on the placket, […]

Go team go! The Bay unveils Team Canada’s London 2012 Olympic Games apparel
For most of us fashion-minded folk (or maybe just me), one of the only times we can get it up for a sports event is the Olympics. The patriotism and the larger-than-life-ness of it seem to get me every time. Coming off the high of 2010’s Vancouver Winter Games, it’s only fitting that there’s some early hype for the London Summer Games, which are set for July 27–August 12, 2012. Today, the Bay kicked it off by launching the full collection (including some winter-appropriate items that can be worn now).
Pictured on some of Team Canada’s cutest athletes (mind you, my personal fave, Alexandre Despatie, is missing), the collection is patchwork-y, graphic-y, heritage-y, and awesome. It’s also super affordable, with the whole shebang ranging from $15–$100.
