The week in celebrity style: See who made our top 10 best dressed
While we are busy figuring out what swimsuits to wear with what outfits, our fave celebs are a whole season ahead of the rest of us pulling out enviable Fall 2014 pieces for red carpet appearances this past week, including the annual Serpentine Gallery Summer Party in London. At an event where the best of the art, film and fashion industries gather to raise funds for the well-loved gallery, you can bet the guest list will be nothing short of the most important (and fashionable) people including British royalty, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and It girls like Lily Allen, Naomi Campbell and Alexa Chung. And since the party was sponsored by menswear brand Brioni, there was no doubt a party of dapper men (Pharell Williams, Orlando Bloom, Bradley Cooper to name a few) would also be in attendance. As one of London’s most-buzzed about social event of the year, A-listers were dressed in head-to-toe British brands (surprise, surprise). Burberry’s campaign star Suki Waterhouse donned a dusty pink dress from the designer house’s Fall 2014 collection, while Cara Delevingne repped Mulberry wearing a minimalist black dress with her namesake bag.

Young and beautiful: 15 rising celebrities who are killing it on the red carpet
See the top 15 young celebrities on the red carpet »
Is it just us or are young celebrities killing it on the red carpet as of late? When it comes to red carpet style, it’s expected to see some of our favourite (and more mature) celebrities making the list – think Diane Kruger, Cate Blanchett and Angelina Jolie. But lately, young starlets have been bringing their wardrobe A-game to the red carpet, naturally making their way onto best dressed lists alongside celebs that have been in the industry a lot longer. Sure, when it comes to talent, age doesn’t matter, but after stumbling across some of the ages of these young stars, we’d be lying if our minds weren’t blown to see how young these stars actually are. Because let’s be real here, some of us were not dressed so impeccably at age 14 (we’re looking at you Kiernan Shipka) or have Miu Miu campagins on our resume (ahem, Hailee Steinfeld and Elle Fanning). From up-and-coming Hollywood star Nicola Peltz to the industry’s top model Cara Delevingne, we’ve rounded up 15 A-lists stars under the age of 21 who have been topping the best dressed lists lately.

MMVA 2014: 30 photos of all the best dressed action from last night’s red carpet and show
You know the Much Music Video Awards are in town when Queen Street shuts down for Toronto’s biggest music party of the summer. With a standout lineup of international musicians and Kendall and Kylie Jenner flub-less hosting, there was no doubt MMVA 2014 is becoming a must-watch music award show in the industry. Between the pajama-clad Marianas Trench literally rolling onto the red carpet and Ed Sheeran handing out free food, Toronto’s hottest show was bigger and better than ever.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner proved they were the front-runners of last night’s best-dressed list with the two changing into three eye-catching outfits for the two-hour show. However, leave it to the
KardashiansJenners to know how to get heads turning on the red carpet. While the younger of the two siblings was dressed in a bedazzling orange mini dress, Kendall upped Angelina Jolie’s infamous right leg at the 2012 Oscars, shocking the fans in a Fausto Puglisi dress with slits that went well past her thighs, exposing hip bone. Thanks to the beautiful weather and possibly rolls of double-sided tape, there were no wardrobe malfunctions. -
The week in celebrity style: See who made our top 10 best dressed
The Cannes Film Festival may be long over, but judging from this past week, celebs everywhere showed no signs of pulling any stops on stepping out in gold medal-worthy outfits. From the World Music Awards to world premieres, we round up the 10 best dressed looks from the week.
World Music Awards took place this past Tuesday drawing top musicians (and models!) to Monte Carlo. Amongst the A-listers was Miley Cyrus who surprised us all in two ensembles that was quite out of character. While her concerts usually calls for custom, barely-there bodysuits, our former cover girl switched it up and donned a gorgeous floral strapless gown for her live performance of “Wrecking Ball.” She later wore a bedazzling silver gown to not only accept the award for World’s Best Video, but also World’s Best Female Artist.

MTV Movie Awards 2013: Our 6 picks for best dressed on the red carpet
See the MTV Movie Awards red carpet photos »
Last night, some of our favourite young starlets and celebrities hit the red carpet for the MTV Movie Awards where they handed out and were awarded 2013’s batch of golden popcorn statues for their important work as “best villain” and “best kiss.”
As with most red carpets that are skewed towards teens, there were some major misses by so many “stars” we have never actually heard of, but we will skip those in favour of those who hit it out of the park. MTV’s House of Style host Karlie Kloss looked like a smokeshow in a two-piece Cushnie and Ochs ensemble. The white-hot bodycon ensemble was finished off with a pair of Gucci heels. To boot, her new-to-2013 cropped bob was looking superb with an accentuated part. Zoe Saldana also showed off some skin in a Givenchy Fall 2013 (hell yes to friends in high places) look that matched florals with sheer polka dots and a thigh-high slit.
Chloe Grace Moretz was a denim dream in a patchwork Louis Vuitton dress and studded T-strap heels. She kept her beauty on the simple and age-appropriate side with a messy waterfall of curls and fresh faced skin. On the complete flip side, simple was not the name of the game for Selena Gomez who wore an embellished Julien Macdonald mini dress with a bouffant that transitioned into a side-braid.

People’s Choice Awards 2013: See who made our list of best dressed on the red carpet and vote for your favourite

The People’s Choice Awards marked the beginning of awards season last night, giving us 2013’s first round of red carpet looks to feast our eyes on. With a more relaxed dress code than some of the upcoming awards shows, last night’s event allowed Hollywood’s bright young things to experiment with short silhouettes, bright hues, mixed prints and even designer names. To our pleasant surprise, up and coming Brit designers Peter Pilotto and Simone Rocha both made appearances on Emma Watson and Chloe Grace Moretz respectively. 15-year-old Moretz, who is fast becoming a style icon in her own right, brightened up the red carpet in neon yellow alongside Lea Michele who wore a sequined pink mini-dress by Elie Saab.
Amidst all the color, classic black and white also had its moment. Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence selected an elegant LBD by Valentino. Newly single Taylor Swift stuck with her signature drop-dead-gorgeous gowns, wearing a dramatic white Ralph Lauren dress.

30 photos of Toronto’s finest bachelors and bachelorettes from Shinan Govani’s annual Worthy 30 party
Toronto’s party circuit came full circle last night with a toast to the 60 lads and ladies who made this year’s Worthy 30. The list, curated by society scribe Shinan Govani, is part who’s-who of the city (there are also Worthy 30 lists for Montreal and Vancouver) and part singles directory, with the clause that anyone nominated cannot be married, engaged or living with a significant other. Meaning: after a few rounds of sponsored Grey Goose cocktails, the mingling almost veered into matchmaking. As for the Worthy in attendance, the men, including Simon Wilkinson, proved that cut-off shorts can look just as stylish as a three-piece suit. (Though respect to Braden Rosner for braving all those layers in the extreme heat!) Lacy details, on the other hand, proved popular with the Worthy women, with Jen Kirch, Courtne Smith, Lauren O’Nizzle and our own online editor Randi Bergman all wearing items with cut-out details. Hopeful jokes were made that perhaps Chloë Grace Moretz or Jake Gyllenhaal would make an appearance, given that both made it onto the “Side Dish” section of the list and are currently filming separate projects in Toronto. Alas, unless they were hiding inside one of the oversized Dedon nest-shaped loungers, we didn’t see them.
