Miley Cyrus vs. Jennifer Lawrence: Who wore the crop top best?
See the crop top looks up close »
The crop top is one of this season’s biggest statement pieces, on and off the runway. Rocked most confidently by those with bodies that can, the crop top’s been seen on celeb midriffs from Diane Kruger to Rihanna and most recently by two of Hollywood’s favourite edgiest dressers.
The crop top trend has made a good friend of Miley Cyrus, who after being photographed in a demure Chanel dress earlier the same day, returned to flaunting her abs for an appearance on Good Morning America. There to promote Las Vegas’s iHeart Radio Music Festival alongside Ryan Seacrest and Keith Urban, Cyrus wore striped and perforated black and white crop top and full skirt from Marc Jacobs’ Resort 2014 collection. Keeping things decidedly simple, Cyrus accessorized with thin layered necklaces by Jennifer Meyer, white pointed-toe heels by Celine and a signature red pout.

Bella Thorne vs. Kat Dennings: Who wore florals best at the Iron Man 3 Los Angeles premiere?
See the Iron Man 3 Premiere looks up close »
Last night in Hollywood, many young actresses took to the red carpet for the premiere of the highly anticipated Iron Man 3. Unsurprisingly, the red carpet was full of spring trends such as embellished dresses, vibrant colours and golden accessories. Two Hollywood It-girls who were in attendance—Bella Thorne and Kat Dennings—both looked super stylish in floral-print ensembles. But which look was best?
Bella Thorne took a risk with a bright and poppy two-piece outfit. The 15-year-old Disney star wore a matching crop top and floor-length skirt by New York designer Katie Ermilio, which was paired with black platform heels and a large statement necklace. A neon yellow manicure (offset by one silver feature nail on each hand) and bright red lipstick completed the look.

Toronto-based photographer, Dana Richardson Blewett, worked her way through the festival grounds at Coachella 2013, to capture the scene as people danced to Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Major Lazer and Wu-Tang Clan in short-shorts, prints, and crocheted pieces.

Grammys 2013: 10 of the best dressed singers and starlets on the red carpet
See the 10 best dressed looks from the 2013 Grammys »
Despite a memo from CBS warning stars to cover up, there was still much skin to be seen on the 2013 Grammy Awards red carpet. Most notable was Katy Perry, who stunned in a mint-green Gucci Resort 2013 dress that was skin-tight and featured an embellished keyhole detail which showed off her ample cleavage. Perry’s look was part Priscilla Presley, part Lana Del Rey and she certainly pulled off the ’70s-inspired style well.
Solange Knowles also wore green, though her beaded Ralph & Russo Couture gown was more of a vibrant emerald hue. Solange is known for her quirky and colourful outfits and her neon-pink Louboutins added personality to her look. Solange’s dress featured a thigh-high slit—a style that was seen on a number of starts last night at the 2013 Grammys. (Clearly Angie’s right leg is still dictating red carpet trends!) Jennifer Lopez took the slit to the next level with an Anthony Vaccarello Spring 2013 gown that seemed to almost tuck in like a pair of hot pants at the top of her thigh. The asymmetrical draped black silk gown certainly showed off her toned body and was set off with shiny gold accessories—and a matching pointy gold manicure.
Black and white was definitely a trend at the 2013 Grammys, as it was for the Golden Globes and SAG Awards red carpet. Beyoncé wore both black and white in an architectural jumpsuit by Osman. The somewhat casual-yet-still-smoking look was certainly one of a kind on the red carpet and Beyoncé accessorized with black and white cuffs and a red pout. Our former cover girl Carly Rae Jepsen wowed in a dark, metallic Roberto Cavalli gown. The mermaid silhouette looked amazing with her dark hair, porcelain skin and enviable body. Carrie Underwood also wore a black strapless mermaid silhouette gown by Roberto Cavalli—though where Jepsen’s was beaded, Underwood’s dress featured lace and embroidery.

Kristen Stewart vs. Sienna Miller: Who wore Erdem Spring 2013 best?
See Kristen Stewart and Sienna Miller’s Erdem looks up close »
While red carpet season is typically dominated by familiar designer names like Chanel, Oscar de la Renta and Marchesa, there finally seems to be a shift in tide. That tide is heading across the pond, where after years of building buzz, London’s designers are finally being rewarded with some serious A-list love. In the last month alone, Peter Pilotto, Marios Schwab and Simone Rocha have all graced red carpets. To boot, major fashion force PPR bought 51% of Christopher Kane’s label, showing major confidence in the London-based star.
And as for the subject of today’s post, Canadian-born and London-based Erdem Moralioglu is rising in the ranks quite steadily with the addition of two megawatt fans. In addition to his continuous props from Kate Middleton aka. the Duchess of Cambridge, who wore the designer’s pieces twice (#1 and #2!) during her Canadian visit in 2011, and again this summer on Royal Tour to Southeast Asia.

Miu Miu Spring 2013 Ad Campaign: Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima and Arizona Muse star as innocent ingénues in the seductive new photos

By Lindsay Tapscott
Ruby red walls and delicate pink flowers; tie-dyed furs casually slung over shoulders; duchesse satin dresses and dark denim overcoats: Miu Miu’s modern “dishabille” femme fatale is here, in these just-released images from the label’s Spring 2013 ad campaign.
Photographed in New York by Inez & Vinoodh and starring many models of the moment, including Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima and Arizona Muse, the campaign follows Miu Miu’s tradition of subversive advertising imagery, offering us an updated, very Miuccia Prada-perverse, take on contemporary femininity, rich with nuance and authenticity. Celebrating the Miu Miu woman and all her facets—femme fatale, innocent ingénue, playful belle, nostalgic beauty—the campaign depicts a series of mise-en-scenes in an ambiguous domestic setting. Nonchalant groupings of the girls in various states of (un)dress, crumpled bedsheets, close-ups of a hand here, a high heel there, the campaign is quietly seductive in its portrayal of a new kind of insouciant feminine elegance.
