Outer space has inspired many a manicure, from the classic moon manicure (okay, it may be named for the moon of your nails and not the moon in the sky, but still!) to glittering galaxy-style nail art. Last fall Jeremy Laing had many a moon print in his collection and this season it seems Carolina Herrera is taking inspiration from astronomy. Two pieces in particular seemed to capture the crater-filled, swirling surface of the moon and it’s this print that served as the basis for today’s nail art. (Also, I’m not the only one completely enamoured with the images of Mars that the Curiosity Rover has been sending back to Earth, right? Outer space is on-trend!) To get the surface of the moon on your nails, you’ll need two shades of mushroom-purple nail polish, a silver-purple glitter and a few dotting tools. Don’t worry, this manicure is easier than rocket science.

The final days of summer are fast approaching, and as much as we’re looking forward to breaking out the Oxblood skinnies and fur gloves, that feeling won’t last come January (winter blues anyone?). Take advantage of the final few outdoor happenings going on from food festivals in Vancouver to Toronto’s Queen West Art Crawl. Looking to relax this weekend? This one is for all you designer diehards out there—the ones who would risk their rent on the latest Riccardo Tisci masterpiece. Despite the designers’ intention to create just the opposite, Jack and Laz created a beast of a must-have in the classic style back in ’08, and its Spring 2012 iteration has us seeing stars (or rather, tropical flowers). At a cool $1,125 for the Pochette model, we figure you’ve gotta wear this guy quite a few times to make it work, and being bright yellow, that ain’t an easy feat. Working out to just under $113 a wear, we’ve styled 10 full and unique looks on Marta that make the PS1 proud.

Have a peek. Foam at the mouth. And then be happy that no other single item in the gallery costs anywhere close to $1,125.
