Party snaps! The Bay’s over-the-top ode to Anna Dello Russo and Tommy Ton
Should you ever find yourself in a similar predicament, the most appropriate way to fête an international fashion superstar in the hometown of her photog paramour would be to roll out the leopard carpet, send in the trannies and keep the bubbly flowing until a dance party ensues amidst racks of designer duds.

LFW diary: Black, white & Daphne all over at David Koma, Mark Fast and Giles
I knew the David Koma show would be black and white and dotty all over when Daphne Guinness ⎯beer heiress, patron saint of designers and stranger to colour ⎯arrived. Sure enough, the first look was a super-minimal cream sheath with black leather dots, in rows of varying size, appliqued on sleeves and skirt. Then came a black wool capelet and a swingy leather midi-skirt, both perforated with great big polka dots. The circle motif spiralled into delightful madness: swirling patterns; leather and wool mashups; screenprinted, polka-dotted faces. I hated only the blog-rave soundtrack and, in that spirit, the balls of fun fur Koma tacked onto otherwise great pieces. He’d have been better off leaving black and white alone. Would Daphne wear a kool-aid blue fur peplum or a sun-yellow stole? I don’t think so.

Paris hasn’t offered up much tailoring for spring ’11. But Stella McCartney built her business on the structured jacket and she isn’t about to abandon what she knows best. Showing amid the opulence of the Opera Garnier, McCartney delivered a collection that hit all the top trends and more. There were soft printed dresses with […]

Angels (a.k.a. Adriana Lima, Chanel Iman and Erin Heatherton) descend to Toronto for a private Victoria’s Secret party
You know you’re at a Victoria’s Secret party when you have flower petals stuck in your teeth–pink flower petals garnishing your pink cocktail, no less. In honour of Toronto’s first Victoria’s Secret, at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, some angels flew over to help us celebrate at a private in-store event, which felt like a salute to bras, panties and the colour pink. Naturally, the few male attendees looked slightly out of place until, of course, the angels descended, at which point their eyes grew to be the size of dinner plates.

Fashion news: Stella McCartney is pregnant, Giles back in London and Jonathan Saunders for Toy Story 3
Stella McCartney is expecting her fourth child later this year. Congrats! [Vogue UK]
While the New York Post referred to Lady Gaga‘s outlandish appearance at her sister’s graduation as her way of “getting back at the bitches who mocked her lust for stardom,” a recent article in WWD suggests it’s more of a once-an-attention-seeker-always-an-attention-seeker kind of thing. Apparently she was no different in high school, though she didn’t have Giorgio and Miuccia on her side back then. [WWD]

British designer Giles Deacon is going to be a very busy bee. Aside from running his eponymous line and working with retailer New Look, he has just been declared creative director of Emanuel Ungaro. [Racked]

Fashion news: Is it over for Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone? Plus, more trouble for Ungaro and Aggy’s sis does tees
We hope this rumour isn’t true: Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone have reportedly ended their relationship. It’s hard to tell at this point what’s real and what’s not, but both Jacobs and Martone have declined to comment. But they had such a great wedding cake… [The Cut]
Jacobs’ business partner, Robert Duffy, got married in Rhode Island last week. [NYTimes]
Is Giles Deacon in or out at Ungaro? Blog buzz is that he’s snagged the creative director role, but Deacon himself saying that there is nothing to report at this point. [Vogue UK]
