Ready to refresh your makeup bag? The beauty trends for Spring 2014 are all about colour, texture and letting your skin shine. Gone are last season’s moody berry shades, deep lips and velvet skin finishes. For Spring 2014, the top beauty trends include popsicle-orange lips, eyeshadows in every pastel shade under the sun and a whole lotta love for gold pigments. For those less inclined to pile on the product, good news: the no makeup makeup look is also trending this season.

It’s time to say goodbye to fall’s dark lip colour, vivid eyeshadows and unforgiving hat-head. Spring is finally here, and we’re ready to freshen up with the latest spring beauty trends. Amidst the myriad of Spring 2013 beauty looks on the runway, nine key trends stood out. From minimalist 1990s beauty to vibrant blue eyeshadow, spring beauty has something for everyone. We’ve rounded up the top beauty trends for spring: Click through the best hair, makeup and nail trends from the Spring 2013 runway shows as well as the products you’ll need to get the looks. This fresh new beauty inspiration is sure to carry you through the season and right into fall.

All eyes are on Milan now, but let’s not forget some of London Fashion Week Spring 2013’s best in beauty. Most refreshing was the influx of bright lips, an area of the face that didn’t get a lot of play at New York Fashion Week, where the general trend was minimal makeup and manicures—nude polish dominated as did completely bare, buffed-to-shine nails. In fact, backstage in the Big Apple makeup artists often skipped putting pigment on the mouth entirely opting for clear gloss. (One of a few notable exceptions, the matte raspberry lip at Jason Wu was awesome.) When they did pull out the colour, they applied it to the top half of the face: take Dick Page’s green and blue over-the-eye arches at Michael Kors, and Tom Pecheux’s abstract smears on lids at Peter Som. But, where New York left us wanting for bold, colourful lips, London made up for it in spades. Even bare-face-loving Burberry Prorsum busted out the rouge lipstick, hopefully a sign that lips won’t be silenced from here on out.

While some seem doubtful, we feel that Kate has the chops to one day become a style icon rivaling her late great mother-in-law. Kate, if you’re reading this (Hi!!!), we think all it would really take is branching out from your jersey dresses and pea coats and embracing the incredible talent that London fashion has to offer. For the couple’s impending honeymoon (rumoured to be taking place in either Australia or Africa), we picked a slightly more daring designer honeymoon wardrobe that we think would be sure to help Katie that secure her a spot in royal fashion history.
