The Choupette scoop! Our hilarious (and informative) interview with Karl’s enviable kitty
Photography via Twitter After Karl Lagerfeld shared news of his new kitten Choupette back in January, and later went on to allude to her life of riches (“She has lunch and dinner with me on the table, with her own food. She doesn’t want to eat on the floor. She sleeps under a pillow and she even knows how to use an iPad. She has two personal maids, for both night and day.”), the fashion world became obsessed with the sure-to-be-Chanel-clad kitty, with V Magazine even giving her a starring role in a fashion spread for an upcoming issue alongside Laetitia Casta. Then came the popularity of the Twitter account, Choupette’s Diary, fueling the insatiable need to know what the kitty does with her spare time. While she wouldn’t dare reveal the extent of her daily activities (“I understand the human fascination with my life but a feline needs her privacy,” she says), she did deign to answer some of our Qs regarding her former owner Baptiste Giabiconi, the new Chanel bag named for her and more.

Quotable: This starlet plans on having her pick of couture houses (and Louboutin heels) when she gets married
With friends like Karl Lagerfeld and a long-running stint as resident It girl Serena van der Woodsen on the style-fueled show Gossip Girl, it’s pretty unsurprising that Blake Lively has get-in-free access to the world’s most elite couturiers. In a particularly jealousy-inducing moment, she even recently shared with Marie Claire how being in show business has completely changed her wedding wardrobe plans.
“What I planned (to get married in) before I got into the business has changed. Now I’m like, ‘Hmm, I wonder what shoes Christian [Louboutin] is going to make me. And which couture house should I go to?'”

Considering that Karl Lagerfeld sketches with Shu Uemura eyeshadows, his forthcoming cosmetics collection is bound to be bright!
It may only be June, but after hearing that Karl Lagerfeld will be creating a holiday beauty line in collaboration with Shu Uemura, we’re officially drafting our first Christmas wish list now.
The two beauty and fashion innovators have shared a long-standing friendship. In fact, Kaiser Karl’s admiration for the Japanese beauty pioneer even extends to his art mediums—Lagerfeld has been using Shu Uemura’s highly pigmented eyeshadows in his sketches for the past 20 years! And in true Lagerfeld form, he didn’t just select the colours for the collection: he also designed the product’s packaging and photographed the soon-to-come campaign.

The scoop on Chanel’s latest art project and all the celebrities who were there to toast to it in New York

The jump from mere popularity to timelessness is a big one, and very rarely does an item cross the gap. The few styles that have become truly timeless (take jeans and the classic white T, for example) usually aren’t solely owned by one brand. The little black jacket, on the other hand, has one very famous creator: Chanel.
To celebrate almost 60 years of LBJs, Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld have collaborated on the book The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classic Revisited, which will be released this fall. The book features over 100 images of 109 celebrities, ranging from Monégasque royalty Charlotte Casiraghi to rapper Kanye West, all styled by Carine Roitfeld in Chanel LBJs.

Quotable: Which designer dines with his cat?
Another day, another memorable Karl Lagerfeld quote. A simple “do you have a cat?” question posed by WWD resulted in a lengthy and poetic description of Chouchette, a nine-month-old “famous beauty.” Needless to say, the Siamese kitten is no normal housecat: “She has lunch and dinner with me on the table, with her own food. […]

Quotable: Which singer wore four pairs of Spanx to the Grammys?
We can appreciate a celebrity that keeps it real (Gwyneth Paltrow and your wood-burning pizza oven take note), and that’s why we love Adele. Last night she sat down for an interview with Matt Lauer and chatted about the Grammy ensemble that Karl Lagerfeld’s disdain of curves made infamous. The singer confessed: “I had three […]

Sh*t Karl says: Our 10 favourite Karlisms from his live-coverage of yesterday’s Jubilee pageant
Left: Sketch via @KarlLagerfeld. Right: Photography by Peter Stigter. If there’s one thing you can depend on Kaiser Karl for, it’s that he’ll always have a running string of colourful commentary on whatever the news du jour is. Being a self-proclaimed royalist himself, Karl Lagerfeld was more than happy to take to the French TV channel French 2 to share his thoughts on everything Jubilee-related, from Kate’s backside to the Queen’s shawl (not Karl-approved, in case you were wondering).

Quotable: Of course Karl Lagerfeld has something to say about this star’s recent scandal
Karl Lagerfeld sure is good at throwing shade from behind his shades. This time around, he unleashed his sharp tongue on John Travolta’s alleged (yeah, whatever) affinity for male masseurs. Lagerfeld made the comment at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala, after a massage by Heidi Klum was auctioned off. When Lagerfeld was asked which […]

Prada, Polanski and Helena Bonham Carter redefine retail therapy at Cannes
Roman Polanski and Prada debuted their film-meets-fashion collaboration at the Cannes Film Festival this weekend. The film, A Therapy, stars Helena Bonham Carter and Ben Kingsley, and is a quirky three-and-a-half-minute reminder of what it’s like to fall in love with fashion.
We’ve all been there—that moment your eyes fall upon an irresistible piece that you simply must get your hands on. Kingsley, who plays therapist to Bonham Carter, is not immune to this love of fashion, and when he lays eyes upon his client’s Prada purple fur, he finds himself hypnotically drawn to the coat. Hey, just like the film states, Prada suits everyone.
