Inside Tiffany’s Blue Book gala in New York: Gwyneth Paltrow, Carey Mulligan, Sarah Jessica Parker and more
See the Tiffany Blue Book gala photos »
Gwyneth Paltrow, Carey Mulligan, Kate Hudson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Williams and Jessica Biel. The guest list for last night’s Tiffany Blue Book gala read like an Oscar red carpet.
But it was all about aqua, with New York’s Rockefeller Center bathed in pale blue light and a 4-storey high blue box erected over the ice rink. Inside was a ’20s-style supper club with mounds of lobster and beef tenderloin, free flowing champagne, plumed aerialists hovering like exotic birds and Smash’s Megan Hilty belting out show tunes. The elegant excess reflected Tiffany’s starring role in the soon-to-be released The Great Gatsby, with the $200,000 diamond headband worn by Mulligan in the film on display alongside pieces from Tiffany’s 2013 Blue Book collection which goes on sale today.

Michelle Williams’ sleek new side-shaved hairstyle is right on trend with Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber
Just when we thought Michelle Williams was growing out her hair she debuted a shorter, very trendy style at the Kate Young for Target launch in New York City last night. The “very trendy” description is key: Williams’ cut is quite short on one side with a long sweep of bang on top—making it very similar to the shaved-side styles recently worn by Pink and Miley Cyrus. (Well, to be fair, Pink has had that haircut for years…) Either way, it’s certainly the edgiest look we’ve seen on Williams, who tends to favour softer styles and classic pixie cuts.
But with Michelle Williams embracing the side-shaved style, does this mean it’s en route to becoming a mainstream cut? Up until now, the look has been reserved for pop stars and It girls—from Rihanna to Kelly Osbourne to Kate Lanphear. Even Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco emulated the style at the ACM Awards on Sunday night with a slicked-back pompadour. And not to leave the guys out of this, Justin Bieber also showed off a similar style this week. His new cut echoes the long bangs of his iconic tween-age Bieber style with, you guessed it, close-shaven sides.

Oz the Great and Powerful: The skinny on the film’s glitzy witchy costumes (and of course, that Emerald City)
See the Oz the Great and Powerful costumes up-close »
Disney’s new film Oz The Great and Powerful is opening in movie theatres tomorrow. And not only are we excited to see James Franco in L. Frank Baum’s classic Oz setting, but we also can’t wait to take in the film’s visually stunning fashion and cinematography.
Created by costume designers Gary Jones and Michael Kutsche, the fashion of Oz reflects the glitz and glamour of L. Frank Baum’s classic storybook setting, while frequently using emerald, ahem, Pantone’s Colour of the Year (How perfect!) Jones and Kutsche created almost 2000 costumes for the film, including several elaborate looks for the film’s witchy stars Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, and Rachel Weisz.

Michelle Williams vs. Rachel Weisz: Who wore it best at the Oz The Great and Powerful London premiere?
See the premiere looks up-close »
With an OPI nail polish collection and an assortment of dramatic costumes, Oz: The Great and Powerful is sure to be a fashionable film. Oz doesn’t hit theatres until next Friday, March 8th, but at the European premiere in London today cast members such as Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, and Rachel Weisz looked stunning walking the “Yellow Brick Road” in place of a red carpet.
Michelle Williams, who plays Glinda in the Wizard of Oz prequel film, wore an emerald feather embroidered Burberry dress to the premiere. She paired the aqua number with a tiny box clutch and minimal makeup for a vibrant look that complemented the film’s fantastical nature.

Beyoncé: Life is but a Dream premieres tomorrow. Here are 7 reasons why you may cry through the whole thing
I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t think Beyoncé is the bees knees. She’s sold countless records, won every award, sung for the President, performed at the Super Bowl, but then again so have many pop artists. They call her the hardest working woman in showbiz, but that’s not the reason they call her Queen Bey either—it’s that aside from supreme octave and hip-thrusting abilities, she’s managed to stay above it all. The importance she’s placed on privacy and keeping it classy that has earned her regal bragging rights. It’s also what has helped her remain relatively unscathed for over 12 years of being in the public eye. To boot, she’s managed to stay married to another of pop’s biggest stars, Jay-Z, sans unseemly consequences.
For the first time in all those years, we’re being let inside the life and mind of Beyoncé with the premiere of her documentary Beyoncé: Life is But a Dream on HBO/HBO Canada. The self-directed stunner bleeds 90-minutes of raw emotion and power through spellbinding all-angle performance footage, self-filmed video diaries, private vacation home videos and more. And while Jay-Z, Blue Ivy, Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland and Solange make their select appearances, it’s all about Bey. It’s like her Tumblr’s come to life and I swear, from personal experience, you won’t be able to keep a dry eye.
Here are some things that had me especially intrigued/verklempt:

Introducing the OPI Oz The Great and Powerful collection: See all 7 nail polish shades (Including one designed for James Franco?)
See all 7 shades of OPI Oz The Great and Powerful nail polishes »
Yesterday OPI gave nail polish lovers a new reason to be excited for 2013 by announcing the launch of a new collection on their Facebook page. Set to hit counters in March, the OPI Oz The Great and Powerful collection features seven nail polishes inspired by the forthcoming Disney movie.
There are no ruby-red slippers to be found here: Oz The Great and Powerful is a prelude to Dorothy’s adventures, focusing on Glinda (the good witch, played by Michelle Williams) and her sisters—as well as how Oz himself came to be. Meaning: OPI has created a collection that’s a mix of soft shades and shimmering, stand-out glitters. It also includes a new shade of Liquid Sand polish named “What Wizardry Is This?” which seems to be a little more masculine than your typical glitter. Said OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, via press release: “This rich taupe hue was designed for James Franco’s character, the great Wizard of Oz, and is sure to make a bold statement this spring.”

Two award shows in one night means double the red-carpet fun! And despite the ocean between the BAFTAs in London and the Grammys in L.A., celebrities worked the carpet in some similar frocks (including an eco gown by Valentino!)
